Background

Around Christmas 2014, the Wolkenritter attacked and successfully drained the current Engaged, Utena Tenjou, of all of her magic -- and it did not return on the usual timeline of days or even weeks. In response, Kasagami Araki assembled the Student Council to declare a challenge bracket for the right to Duel the Engaged while she was essentially powerless to resist. Most of the Duelists elected to participate for a chance to win this priceless opportunity, with only Touga Kiryuu and Yukino Kikukawa abstaining for reasons they chose to keep to themselves.

In the end, Kasagami emerged triumphant over the bracket she herself had assembled, but not without leaving bruised egos, broken hearts, and perhaps a few grudges in her wake...
