A very long time ago, in the Kingdom of Scent, there was a young musician who was associated with the scent of ‘winterberry’. This musician was a lovely young woman that was associated with the aspects of music, art in general, and knowledge.
Many, many years later...
Hisae Musumi is the middle child in a family of five. Her mother is a schoolteacher at Juuban, teaching elementary, and her father is a lawyer. She grew up as any middle child would - slightly confused at her younger sister's’ antics and exasperated with her older sister as well.
Hisae was a confident if not quiet child from the very beginning; she preferred to be left alone with a good book, which for the most part, worked out very well; caring for two active children was rough for her mother, for three probably would’ve exhausted her terribly. When she found her voice and grew more confident and self-capable, she was basically allowed to do what she wanted, within limits.
While she was originally set to enter Juuban along with her siblings, for some reason - due to at that time, her unknown magical potential - an offer to become a student at Infinity Institute. Aware of the openings this might make for her, the Musumi family happily agreed, and she’s been at Infinity Academy since.
In her first year of junior high school, as a gift for doing so well, Hisae was taken out to get a new outfit and a bit of grown-up perfume as a treat. At the shop, Hisae was allowed to purchase anything she wanted, and she wandered around, testing different scents. She came across a beautifully frosted bottle with a winter-blue cap labeled ‘Winterberry’. She did not end up buying anything that day.
That night, Hisae had a dream. A dream of a beautiful land, filled with books, and music strumming through the air. The next day, she went back to the shop, and brought the Winterberry perfume, well aware that something might indeed be occurring.
A few days later, on a walk through a park, Hisae was set upon by a group of monsters. A group of girls appeared, and shouted at her that it’s time to get going, and she completed her first Henshin into Winterberry Splash. After that, she was inducted into the Perfume Splash group as one of their newest magical girls.
After her induction and realization of her powers, the Infinity Institute offered to move her into some of the magical classes as well as her normal ones. Hisae, never one to turn down extraordinary knowledge, agreed to this.
A year passed, and time has rolled around again. Now heavily involved in her music, art, and literature clubs, as well as her magic classes, after school magic clubs, and her spare time fighting with the rest of Perfume Splash, it’s a wonder Hisae has time to do anything.
