The view from up here above the bay is usually relaxing to Kimiko. To be able to watch and see everything going on around her without being noticed made her feel special in a strange way. Trying to explain that to anyone would probably sound weird but tonight it doesn't matter anyway because it's not comforting at all. In fact, she feels more lonely than she has probably ever felt in her life.

Moving away from the edge of the building, she can still see out across the ocean and she focuses her eyes on glimmers of lights in the distance. Her mother never took her to the ocean at night but even just the smell of the ocean air brings back memories. Memories that have been painfully drawn to the surface by the events of the last few days, memories that she wants, more than anything, to erase.

Her mind plays over and over everything that happened, being sucked into the book, having to save and protect civilians so the others could destroy the thing that threatened to take their very world from them. It's overwhelming just going over what they experienced. The one thought that keeps coming back to her though is the feeling of her mother's kiss on her forehead. It felt so real and yet it wasn't.

Suddenly, she kicks a loose piece of the roof off the side of the building in anger. Kimiko wants to scream how unfair it is. She knew that they had to leave the dream but why can't she get past this and how was she supposed to even begin moving forward with her life when she finally had a taste of everything that she ever truly wanted in this world? She thought she knew the answer but now, Kimiko is not sure anymore.

As the night continues, Kimiko eventually is one of the only people around. She raises a hand to the back of her neck, feeling the place where the familiar mark was and then she looks down at the ring on her hand. Both of those things were reminders of what she had chosen and the young girl thinks about how it wasn't worth it. Not for the little bit she gained from her choice. If she had a chance to do it over again, she now believes she knows what choice she would make.

It's too much and she suddenly collapses in a heap on the roof. Her silver hammer lands with a thud near her. For a long time, the only sound coming from her is quiet sobbing...
