Sometimes, Fuu makes the rounds in Akihabara to see what new games have come out ... although she has a pretty good track record for already knowing what's hitting the shelves when. Today, though, she's indulging the more academic side of her nerd cred - not new software, but old hardware. That does take her away from the main street, skirting the stalls around and underneath the JR station, and she has to be a bit more alert than sometimes.
But Akihabara is still pretty safe ... and if something goes horribly awry, she *does* have a secret or two to draw upon, if push really comes to shove.
That said, though, she finishes making the rounds of those old stalls and heads back to the main street, fishing her smartphone out to double-check the time, and the train schedule. Maybe she should get a bite to eat before heading back home ...

Though the crowds comes a girl with a blonde head of hair, making her way back towards the train station. In the few months she's been living around Tokyo, she's never visited Akihabara until a job interview took her right into the heart of it. She peeks into the bag over her shoulder every now and then, her brow furrowed at something inside.
Her attention slowly shifts upwards, towards the buildings and advertisements nearby, distracted by the bright colours and lights. Unknown to the tall blonde girl, she's now on a collision course with another distracted party.
It wasn't deliberate, but with Ai looking upwards, she collides with the girl wearing glasses that's checking the phone, and gives a surprised cry as she jumps back in surprise and trips.

"Whoops - !!"
Fuu spots the oncoming pedestrian just a little too late to avoid colliding with her, and quickly brings her hands (and phone) up to catch her glasses so they don't slip. "Ah, I'm sorry! I should have been -" Fuu stuffs her phone back in her pocket, and offers a hand to the fallen Ohtori student, smiling apologetically. "Are you all right? I really should have been paying more attention, not walking while looking at my phone ..."

"Owww!" The Ohtori student leans to the side and rubs her behind for a moment, and smiles sheepishly up towards the girl from the Infinity Institute. "I'm really sorry!" she spurts out in a more rural accent. She still looking sheepish despite the other girl's apology.
She accepts the hand, and gets back to her feet again while dusting off her skirt. "Oh how embarrassing to do this. I guess we're both to blame then! I was distracted by all the signs and didn't see you on the phone. They're so many bright and pretty signs! But you're not hurt, are you?"

"Only my pride," the bespectacled blonde replies sheepishly. "I'm usually more alert than that. Were you lost, or looking for something particular?" she wonders ...
"Oh, yes. I'm Fuu Hououji, Infinity high-school first-year," she introduces herself as she gets her wits back about her. Fuu bows to Ai, politely and properly, even though she thinks the other girl might be a bit younger than she is. Fuu herself is in her school uniform, so 'Infinity high-school' might be redundant, but good manners demand no less.

Shaking her head, Ai laughs cheerfully. "Oh, I had an interview. I was lost, but now I'm not lost. I got directions from the lady in one of the stores on how to get back here, so I'm going to my Aunt's place after I catch the train again."
She looks surprised at the bow, and quickly returns it formally. "It's nice to meet you, Hououji-san. I-I'm Ai Yamamoto. Ohtori middle school. I haven't been here long, and I'm still learning my way around. There's so many people here."

"In that case, welcome to Tokyo," Fuu replies with a smile. "And to Akihabara in particular. It's a pleasure to meet you, Yamamoto-san ... or would you prefer Ai-san?"
There was a time when hearing 'Ohtori' in somebody's introduction would have put Fuu off somewhat, but she's gotten to know more Ohtori students, on better terms, and there's nothing negative about Fuu's reaction. A fellow Sister Schools student, in any case.
"Do you need to catch your train soon," Fuu wonders, "or are you thinking of a bite to eat first?"

Ai quickly checks the buckles on her bag, and offers a smile at the question. "Ai-san is fine. Do you want me to call you Fuu-san or Hououji-san?" she then asks, as she arches both brows.
She glances upwards again, her attention shifting towards the sky, and then towards the buildings as she considers something. She hmms softly, and then glances back down and rolls up her sleeve to look at the time. "Oh... I missed that train, I'll have to catch a later one. I really shouldn't have anything to eat, as I'm meant to follow a strict diet. But... coach won't know if I have another meal. I can just work harder at the next training session!"

"'Fuu-san' is fine," Fuu replies with a smile, and then considers briefly. "I was thinking more of a snack than anything big ... the donut shop across from the subway is rather nice, if you have a sweet tooth. And if your aunt's expecting you to eat supper at home, then you definitely don't want to eat too much before you get there."
If the donut shop seems to appeal to Ai, Fuu turns to head up the street, slowly enough to let the other girl keep pace easil. "Next training session ... which team are you on? Track and field, or something?" She gives Ai a slightly more evaluating look - trying to guess what sport Ai might be in.

"Donut?" Ai asks curiously as she gives Fuu a strange look. "Is that the fluffy circle bread thing? I have seen them, but never tried one before." She then nods her head eagerly. "Let's get donuts! Oh, and, uh, I just kind of go there during the weekends. I live in the dorms at Ohtori."
She then shakes her head, and grins. "Nope and nope! I am alright with track and field, but I didn't enjoy it all that much. I am with the swim team now. It's kind of awkward, as I have competed against a couple of them in the past, and they're a great team. Actually, all three schools were fun to compete against."
