"Vita..." Nanoha's eyes cloud up again with tears again at seeing the Wolkenritter taken from them. No matter their rivalry, all she wanted to do was to help them and she tried so hard.
Then the darkness takes her...

The sound of voices outside her door jolt her awake. As her eyes adjust to the sudden intrusion of daylight, Nanoha feels out of sorts but yet, she's so comfortable. Turning to look across her room, she is surprised and panics at not seeing Raising Heart next to her bed. Her mind tries to think back over what happened but her thoughts are hazy and she can't quite remember all the details.
A knock at the door and the door opens, Miyuki and a couple of kids burst into the room.
"Nano-chan, your friends are here already. You slept late!" Miyuki turns to leave and then her friends come in and start giggling until they see the confused expression on Nanoha's face. "What's wrong with you? You look like you're lost?" Arisa says. Nanoha shakes her head, "It's nothing. I think... I just had a bad dream is all." The girls nod, "Well, come on, you gotta get ready for school and your mom packed you a breakfast to take with you." They don't mention the treats that Shiro and Momoko had packed for all of them for later.
Nanoha shoos the girls out and begins to get ready for school. After putting on her Infinity Uniform, Nanoha fixes up herself in the mirror, taking great care to make sure that no hair is out of place. Her mother always placed an emphasis on looking good. Looking in the drawers though, she realizes something else is missing and the ribbons she pull out are her old ones, not her favorites.
By the time she appears in the kitchen, Nanoha has convinced herself that it was just a very bad dream and she cannot help but feel happy at seeing all her family together, along with her best friends.
Shiro is busily packing his own lunch for work when he sees his youngest daughter. "Nanoha, your friends said you had a bad dream?" He walks over to her and gives her a hug. "Are you okay?" Nanoha smiles and nods enthusiastically. "I am fine now! We better go though." Shiro laughs. "Alright. Don't forget your breakfast!" He pauses and hands her a couple of bags, "And your lunch!"
Nanoha looks around, "Where's mom?" Shiro looks back to her. "She went to the cafe. You know we're doing the big grand re-opening this weekend." Catching the look of confusion in his daughter's eyes, Shiro frowns. "How could you forget? That's all we have been talking about for the last few months! The bakery is doing so well that we needed to move locations and expand. Nanoha nods, albeit uneasily and then finally smiles. "Right!"
She heads out towards the front door where her friends are waiting. "We are going to be late Nano-chan!!" Nanoha laughs. "Okay, let's go! I am ready!" The girls head off towards a waiting car and head to school.

At school, Nanoha is greeted by a number of students and they all run around the schoolyard before classes start, laughing and playing games with each other. For the first time in what feels like forever, Nanoha feels like this is the way things are supposed to be and the way she always wanted it.
But in the back of her mind, there is something important she feels like she is missing...
