Shinichirou has only just discovered his alter ego's existence, and one could argue that he's not exactly handling it as best he could. Normally, he's a gregarious individual who doesn't have the faintest idea when it's appropriate to butt out of a conversation. He was invited to join the Drama Club at Ohtori Academy just recently, and takes a great deal of pride in his skill as an actor. He will gladly proclaim his desire to become a popular idol or movie star to anyone who asks (or even those who don't!). Despite his low social status, he freely shares whatever he has with anybody in need, particularly those that seem lonely. His compassion for others has served him well thus far, but as one of the Flight it could be a dangerous fault-- does everybody really deserve a second chance?
As the mysterious Zephyr Ala Mode, he needs to balance his gentle nature with the seriousness of his mission to protect civilians, find the rest of the Anemoi Flight, and protect the reborn sorceress Amada. All of that would be a lot easier if he were a little less scared of monsters, and better at keeping his head in a fight!
Fame and Stardom
Shinichirou's best friend, Rinko Watanabe, collaborated with him and a couple other students during their prior school years to create a couple of dating sims as Rinko's personal project, known as Heartbeats Down! and available freely for download on the internet. The games use photography of Shinichirou and the other students in place of art, and voice acting by Rinko, Shinichirou, and a few other friends of theirs willing to participate, including Rinko's mother. Though he should probably be embarrassed, Shinichirou enjoyed helping to make the games and is proud of the work they did together, so he won't deny it if someone recognizes him from that. He has also participated in several competitions in Osaka, as well as a couple in Tokyo, for the performing arts.
Friends and Family
Katsuko Inoue - Shinichirou and his mother have a pretty strong relationship. They almost treat each other more like Katsuko is Shinichirou’s big sister than his mom sometimes, up to and including the occasional bout of horseplay when they’re both worked up. Overall they are pretty independent of each other and have a healthy respect for each other’s privacy. They argue facetiously with each other quite frequently, and have a sort of friendly rivalry about the chores in the house (hence the supposedly fair wheel-system they developed).
Katsuko is initially suspicious of any new friends he makes until she’s had a chance to look them over.
Septima (Tima) - Tima is Shinichirou’s companion. She takes the form of a pink and blue fruit bat with purple eyes. On Earth she regularly gets confused for a stuffed animal toy due to her unusual coloration, which means she sometimes gets stuck having to act the part.
Her relationship with Shinichirou is still new but so far they get along. Tima likes to sleep during the day and pester Shinichirou at night when he’s sleeping, regardless of his school schedule. She doesn't like letting him go to school alone, but she hates pretending to be a stuffed animal, so after a few mishaps she will do her best to stay near him while probably hanging from a ledge outside or something less stuffy and risky than being kept in his bag.
These two also bond over food: he loves sweet things, and she loves spicy, so each can give the type they don't like to the other. She never helps him with his chores and prefers to read through whatever’s available in the house, though she does help make sure he’s never late to school on the mornings following a monster attack.
Rinko Watanabe – They currently keep in contact via email, which is one of the few things that will motivate Shinichirou to go out of his way to access the internet.
Where Shinichirou is outgoing and cheerfully agreeable, Rinko is dominating and charming, with a competitive streak a mile wide. They were an inseparable pair back home, insufferably loud. Rinko’s interest in fight choreography meant that she was frequently starting conversations with Shinichirou by play-sword fighting with him, which he misses a lot now that they’re separated, possibly for good. Her interests have skewed more towards writing and directing as they got older, and currently she has been teasing Shinichirou for putting off playing her newest release, (Heartbeats Down! 2). She has told him that he is 'quite a popular choice' among those who play the game, which is embarrassing and probably why he hasn't played it yet.
NOTE- Rinko has not yet awakened to it, but she is the reincarnation of Notus Ala Mode. This is part of why they are such close friends, though certainly not the only reason!
