Profile
Sora Godai is a Light Maiden whose soul was ripped from her body by an unknown evil shortly before the Fall of Edo in 1868, leaving her to drift aimlessly through our world. Daichi Daigo is the son of an influencial Yakuza boss in modern times, and he would much prefer it if people kept their damned distance. Funny how fate conspired to bring these two together in every sense of the word. As he lay dying following a demon attack, Daichi managed to cheat death by forging a contract with Sora. She would lend him her strength, fusing their spirits together so as to keep him alive. Daichi, in turn, would act as her anchor in this earthly realm, lending her his human shell in times of trouble so that she could fulfill her duties as Light Maiden Hope. But was Sora really up for the task? She had forgotten so much about her own powers, and about being human. And poor Daichi, how would he ever explain acting as a vessel for a superhuman vigilante to his Yakuza family?

Background Information

Edo Period, 18XX

  • Sora Godai is born to a Japanese aristocrat family.
  • Sora Godai grows older.
  • Sora Godai grows some more.
  • Sora Godai makes a contract with a mysterious traveling mask salesman. Receiving a Kitsune Mask from him, she is henceforth given the title of Light Maiden Hope. Strongest out of all the Light Maidens of that time, Sora's job is to fight the enduring enemies of humanity, push back the darkness and bring hope to where it is needed most.
  • Sora Godai lives a double life and all is well.
  • An unknown evil coalesces off the shore of Japan and begins advancing inland. Light Maidens everywhere rally to the call and try to defeat it in combat, but the evil doesn't even acknowledge them, continuing to lumber onward undeterred. Finally Light Maiden Hope shows up at the scene and blasts the evil with everything she has. The bad news is that everything Sora had was still not enough to defeat the evil. The worse news is that everything Sora had was just enough to finally draw the evil's attention.
  • The evil rips Sora's spirit from her body, leaving her to drift aimlessly through the world.

1882

  • A powerful magical resonance washes over the world. Caught between planes of existence, Sora's spirit suffers the brunt of the magical wave, her spirit ripped to shreds and scattered across the world as tiny spiritual sand specks. Only her core of a Magical Girl remains, left to watch over the world in its dormant state.


2013

  • Daichi Daigo is a Yakuza heir. Daichi Daigo goes to Ohtori. Daichi Daigo goes on a school trip.
  • While on tour with his art class in a local museum, Daichi is caught in the middle of a demon attack.
  • Part of the ceiling collapses on Daichi, and he lies on the floor dying.
  • A half-broken Kitsune mask that is on display at the museum falls on Daichi as he lies there. Being Sora's Artifact, the contact with the mask allows Sora to offer Daichi a deal: she will give him hope if he gives the same to her.
  • Daichi agrees.

Personality Traits

DAICHI

  • On the Outside: A volatile, angry, violent, no-good delinquent.
  • On the Inside: Scared; trapped under the weight of his family's expectations and their portrayal of the world as a dog eat dog jungle.

SORA

  • On the Outside: An apathetic, dry, blunt, jaded lady.
  • On the Inside: Still rebuilding herself. Learning about the new world around her, trying to get in touch with her lost humanity. Eager to try out new things, in her own muted way.

  • Sora Godai: Sora saved Daichi's life, acting as his spiritual life support. Daichi, in turn, acts as Sora's anchor and provides her with a foothold in this earthly realm. Each can't exist without the other. For Daichi, who is used to pushing everyone away, being literally tied to someone is very difficult. For Sora, who had spent over a century being less-than-human, this is also new. Both acknowledge they owe each other a debt of gratitude, but it's doubtful they would ever express it outloud.
