Ail is not from this world. But that doesn't stop him from thinking he ought to be running the place, and that the main value humans have is as an energy source. Together with his sister An he lives in an apartment they've commandeered from humans, and in their bedroom lies an entire alternate dimension, which houses the Makaiju, an ancient tree which can turn energy from other life forms into a purified and concentrated version, and without the tree's purified energy, the two of them will die.

So to be fair, they do have a decent reason to be annoyed when they go to steal energy and a bunch of goofy looking costumed girls show up, and not only stop them from gathering the energy they need to live, but actually have the audactiy to -attack- them? At least, in their own minds as traveling nobility of the universe.

In order to feed their needs for socializing beyond each other, and deflect suspicion about the occupied penthouse, Ail goes to Juuban Public School as Seijuro Ginga, recent student from a foreign land, attractive hunk, and amazingly good flute player.

An gets her own category, and she'd demand it herself if she didn't. Truly, the only person who can understand the struggles he's gone through to survive is the one who's gone through it with him, his lover, An. However, years of painful survival have driven a wedge even between them, and their love has turned to possessive jealousy, though they might not understand or admit it.

Enemies

• Magical Girls and Boys: Ail hasn't yet developed a specific hatred for any of these specifically yet, but it's really exhausting how they always show up to ruin his latest attempt to steal the energy he needs to live. And he's got to eat to live, gotta steal to eat... otherwise we'd get along! But on top of that they're trying to exert their will on him? Now that's just disrespectful, coming from a bunch of ants.

Food

• Madoka: Ail found this girl on one of his first personal hunts through the crisp winter sky, and she's like a beacon of energy. He's sure that if he could just get her back to the Makaiju he could feed his tree, himself and An for generations! or at least a couple months, energy is fleeting like that. Unfortunantly, attacking her brought a massive swarm of magical girls out of the woodwork and just thinking about that fight makes him unconsciously rub his jaw and shoulder. He hasn't given up, though. When the time is right, he will feed her to the tree!
