*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+* Mitakihara General Hospital +*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Recently completed to great fanfare, this 42-story hospital is the tallest
in the world, with a glossy glass exterior that folds two great wings inward
towards the main entrance. Equipped with over 1,200 beds, Mitakihara is
known as a place of last resort for those with difficult illnesses (and,
ideally, disposable income). Designed with typical criticisms of health care
facilities in mind, this ultramodern building eschews the usual bland
pastels and workmanlike right angles for elegant, understated earth tone
patterns and dynamic diagonal windows and paneling. Its patient rooms have
large windows wherever possible to let in natural light, and are decorated
 to suggest a hotel-like atmosphere.

There is substance behind Mitakihara's style; the latest technology
dominates its every facet, from the touchscreen controls on its room-sized
glass elevators to the particle accelerator in its basement used for
precision radiation treatment. For all of its amenities, however, Mitakihara
can be a quiet, lonely place; not all of its rooms are in use yet, and those
that get lost in it can find themselves wandering empty halls.

Mitakihara leverages its sheer size by providing a small, French-style
garden on the roof for patients. Low hedges of pink flowers seem to sprout
directly from the tiles, in a radiating circular shape, and an ornamental
iron fence around the rim of the building ensures safety.

Mitakihara General Hospital is a beautiful building. Its great glossy glass exterior shines in the light, and it's--frankly--huge. Ultramodern and dynamic, it's more like a hotel than a hospital to look at it...

And Yumi Ohzora doesn't appreciate it much.

Up on one of the higher floors, in a hall that's especially polished even among the otherwise very nice parts of the hospital, there is Yumi's room. Her mother is a noted donor to the hospital, as it happens. This part of the hospital is less busy than some, meant to give the patients proper rest instead of having people running around all the time as if it's an emergency or something. Once more, Yumi Ohzora does not much appreciate it.

Her room is big, though. Earth tones dominate the wall; there's a few chairs, a TV in the corner, and of course the hospital bed. Yumi is currently sitting up, reclined in the chair scribbilng away at what looks like homework. At the far table is a strange hand-puzzle of some kind, made of intricate interlocking metal that resembles something of a three dimensional knot. But Yumi's hooked up to various machines to monitor her condition, though she navigates them like they aren't there.

The nurse will bring Kyouka over.

EARLIER, BY TEXT:

> Wait you're WHERE?!

> Don't go anywhere I'm coming to see you.

A few moments later, when Kyouka has regained her composure a little.

> Sorry, stupid thing to say. I'll come see you after class.

NOW:

It's been... a strange time for Kyouka, as of late. Her mother got caught up in the unpleasantness at Sanbu, which had left Kyouka, ever concerned with others, bending over backwards to look out for her mother for a few days, even if her mother didn't fully understand the true depths of why. And just as she was starting to calm down again, to see that her mother was largely none the worse for the wear, and that she could maybe relax a bit...

A different person she cares about has fallen ill.

At least this cause was mundane. Probably.

Hopefully.

Kyouka tore out of class the moment she was able to that day, and likely would have torn through the hospital to get to Yumi but... well, you don't get a place this nice without plenty of security to keep it nice, so Kyouka felt compelled to at least show a little decorum. But she was definitely visibly anxious and impatient as she checked in with the nurse and was escorted to Yumi's room, though she did manage a sincere thank you and a bow as the nurse left.

But after that she was rushing into the room. "Yumi-chan! Are you okay? Are they taking good care of you? Do you need anything? Is there anything I can do for you?"

Whoops, she might have transferred some of that worrying energy from her mother to her friend.

<Pose Tracker> Yumi Ohzora [Infinity Institute (11)] has posed.

>I'll be here!

It was a little more cheerful than Yumi felt, admittedly. But she doesn't want to pawn off her moods on her friends. But that was much earlier. NOW...

The nurse is kind and takes the time to tell Kyouka that if Yumi needs anything she'll be right down the hall--but Yumi herself looks up at all the noise and then--

She can't help it. She laughs a little. A small smile comes onto her face. "You really are worried," she notices. "...Sorry. I didn't mean to laugh at you. You rushing in is probably the most exciting thing that's happened all day..."

"It's fine," she finally answers. "Mikoto-chan grabbed my stuff and Hana-chan sent my homework over. I'd ask you to make me something better than hospital food but they wouldn't let me keep it anyway." Yumi closes up her tablet and shifts it to the bed beside her, gesturing to the chair on this side. "If you want to help, I could use some company. Tell me what's going on out there! It's all boring and quiet in here."

That's what she says; she looks pretty pale, and she has an IV hooked up, along with various machines monitoring various aspects of her health that aren't... great, overall. She speaks well enough, but she still sounds a little tired.

<Pose Tracker> Kyouka Okazaki [Juuban Public School (10)] has posed.

Kyouka does look a bit embarassed as Yumi laughs, her cheeks tinting a bit, though she doesn't look offended. "S-sorry, just been in... kind of a worrying mood lately. My mom got stuck at... You know what, nevermind that."

Now's definitely not the time to go into that.

"But hey, if I made your day a little exciting, that's worth something, isn't it?" she says with a bit of a grin. She nods as you explain about Mikoto and Hana--that was one of the girls at Sanbu, wasn't it? Good to know she's doing better--and then...

She looks thoughtful as Yumi mentions food, glancing at the door. "Hmmmm... I mean... I could probably sneak something in, but they definitely wouldn't like that..." she muses. She snaps her fingers though as a thought hits her. "Do you know when they're releasing you? I could prep some meals for you. Make it so you just have to put them in the oven and warm them up. That way there'd be one less thing to worry about when you go back to your dorm."

Kyouka takes the offered seat, slipping her backpack off and setting it on the floor besides the chair. "Well, let's see.... Oh! We had a new student transfer into my class, so that's kind of exciting. I offered to show her around, get her acclimated, all that. A little soft spoken maybe, but she seems nice. Her dad runs a dojo, too."

Kyouka spares a glance for the monitors. She isn't really sure what they all are, but she does understand IVs. And how Yumi looks a little pale. But she doesn't ask. Yumi's probably had more than enough of that, and can fill her in on whatever she feels like.

<Pose Tracker> Yumi Ohzora [Infinity Institute (11)] has posed.

"No, it's okay. You have reason to be, right? You had somebody out in Sanbu, like most of the others." Yumi gets it. She had someone there, too. Though not her mother...

"Ahah. Yeah, it is," Yumi says. She nods along at how they wouldn't like it--but when Kyouka gets an idea, "Really?" Yumi asks. "...That'd be nice. I don't know when they're letting me out yet, though. It's probably a couple more days. They want to keep an eye on me a while longer until they're satisfied I won't just drop dead when they stop looking." Sigh. "...Aah, sorry. Gallows humor, I guess. When I'm kinda down I get sort of..." She gestures, vaguely. "Sorry. I know you're worried. I'll be fine."

"Oh, new student, that's nice. It's nice not to be the newest anymore, right?" she asks. "Oh, cool. A dojo..."

"...Basically," Yumi explains, since she figures it's about time, "I... collapsed again, at the dorms. That just happens sometimes. I guess maybe I wasn't taking care of myself enough, or something. Anyway, I hurt myself falling so they... don't want me walking around yet."

"Tama's around here somewhere," she says. "She's been keeping an eye out around the hospital, just in case."

<Pose Tracker> Kyouka Okazaki [Juuban Public School (10)] has posed.

Oh. So she'd heard about Sanbu. That made thigns easier. At least insofar as she didn't have to try and explain Sanbu.

Kyouka just nods. "Yeah, my mom got stuck out there. She was chaperoning, and... Well, if you know about Sanbu then I probably don't need to describe it. But I've been keeping an eye on her ever since. She seems fine, for the most part."

But food! Food is a happier topic. Kyouka nods eagerly, grinning as Yumi asks 'Really?' "Really! I'm doing a large part of the cooking at home these days anywya, so... it's no big deal for me to make something extra and take it over to you. Got any requests?"

She smiles a little, sympathetically, and waves off the apologies for the gallows humor. "Hey, you're the one stuck in here. You have the right to feel about this however you want. I'd be out of sorts too if I was hooked up to a bunch of machines and unable to do what I wanted."

Kyouka chuckles a little, "Yeah, I still feel pretty new, but... it's nice to be able to pay that forward, you know? At least she's from Japan, though, so she doesn't have that working against her like I did. And yeah, I think she said she's joining the... Judo club? I mnight ask if she's up for a spar sometime. I still keep up with my practice but I haven't had a sparring partner in a while. Oh! And a bunch of us are headed over to the amusement park later. There's a deal for half-off tickets, and I invited the new kid along."

Kyouka frowns a little, nodding as Yumi explains about the fall. It doesn't really help reduce her worrying energy, though she's doing her best to keep it in check. Everything that can be done for her is being done, at least medically.

And she'd just said it'd been a long time since she'd had a hospital stay, too. Damn.

She raises an eyebrow. "Tama's keeping watch? She doesn't think it's..." She glances out the door of the hospital room to make sure there's no nurses eavesdropping. "... non-physical or anything, does she?"

<Pose Tracker> Yumi Ohzora [Infinity Institute (11)] has posed.

"Ohhhh." Yumi thinks, for a moment, how she might feel if her mother had been out there for that. ...She gets a weird expression for a moment as she finds herself certain that Kimie Ohzora would have done something different about the Wraiths, somehow.

"Yeah," Yumi says, breaking out of her daydream, "I'm sorry. That's rough. Hana-chan was out there too... and since the cover story is that she got sick from exposure, they won't let her in to see me."

Food... it is a nicer topic. "Oh, I'd feel like I'm imposing if I asked too much. Whatever you make is fine. I can't do grapefrut, though. ...I'll just give you a list of stuff I can't do," she says.

Yumi... appreciates Kyouka not getting too down on her for her humor. "Yeah, pretty much. OK, thanks."

"Yeah, that's handy. I remember when I get out to other countries it's..." Pause. "Well, it's not the same as living there, obviously. But things are really different, is all I mean." A beat, "Amusement park! That's pretty nice."

"No, this is normal for me," Yumi explains. "I mean, it sucks, but it's not the work of the darkness or anything. But just in case anybody gets ideas about attacking the hospital, or some other trouble comes around, or we get Wraith problems here, or whatever..."

"Let's see, she's..." Yumi closes her eyes. "...Outside right now, south of here. I think she's hunting."

"...Tama can tell where I am and how I'm doing," Yumi explains. "She actually is the one who got help when I fell, I heard." A pause. "Hmmm. I can't spar with you, but if you want to talk spells sometime I can do that. I know Midchildan notation okay enough."

<Pose Tracker> Kyouka Okazaki [Juuban Public School (10)] has posed.

"Thanks, it's..." she glances to the side. "Well, it's definitely an incident that's hit close to home, at least." One more worrying revelation on her path to becomeing a more experienced magical girl.

One that seems less and less temporary as she goes.

"Dang, I'm sorry. That sucks, but at least she came out of the experience okay... relatively speaking, anyway. Tomoe-san said everyone would recover quickly since it hadn't been that long. Might be longer for the villagers, but they should be okay eventually, too."

Kyouka rubs the back of her neck. "I, uh... might not be welcome back to do more work for Angel's Aid, though. I... miiiight have said some things on the phone while I was trying to find out what happened to my mom."

She grins as Yumi tries to not inconvenience her about the food. "Yumi-chan, I wouldn't have made the offer if I didn't mean it. Please, feel free to ask. I can work my meal planning around whatever you ask for, it'll be fine." She nods as Yumi mentions the grapefruit. "Right, check. Yeah, get me that list and I can plan around that, too. Not a problem. Sharing hospitality's meaningless unless you're looking out for everyone." She says that very firmly.

"Yeah!" Kyouka agrees about the amusement park. "I think Tsugaru-chan--she's the new girl--said that it's her first one ever, and I haven't been to many myself, so I'm looking forward to it too. I heard some of the other kids talking about making wishes on the ferris wheel, but I'm not into that kinda stuff as much."

Kyouka nods, "Right. That's... definitely the last thing we need right now, any of that kind of stuff happening here. Glad you've got someone who can stay on hand to keep an eye on you, then." She'd be sorely tempted to if she didn't have responsibilities elsewhere.

She blinks a little as Yumi identifies Tama's whereabouts, but then nods as she explains. "Oh, right, 'cause she's your familiar. Got it. That makes sense. And I'm glad she was able to get you help." She looks thoughtful. "I could bring something for Tama, too... Is there anything in particular she'd like?"

"Yeaaah, no offense, but you're definitely not at the top of my list of potential sparring partners," she says softly, but not in a way meant to be unkind. She brightens up. "Oh, sure! That could be cool. Or just a crash course in magic in general, even. When you're up for it, of course."

<Pose Tracker> Yumi Ohzora [Infinity Institute (11)] has posed.

"For sure," Yumi says. "...Unfortunately it happens more than I'd like, the people we care about being in danger. Or us being in danger, for that matter. But at least now you can do something about it when they are, right? That's different."

"Mami Tomoe knows her stuff," Yumi agrees thoughtfully. "So I believe that. I never asked Eri-chan much about Wraiths, but maybe I should ask her some more." Then she pauses, at that admission. "...Ahahah. Well, that's fine."

"Well, if you insist," Yumi says, her manners satisfied by having tried to refuse at least once. It's like that. "That's a nice approach, I think." About hospitality.

"Oh, nice! It's a good one, though I obviously don't do most of the rides," she says, and figures it's obvious why. "Wishes are fun," she says. "I hope you have a good time."

Yumi smiles. "I couldn't stop her if I wanted to," she admits. "Though I do still have the Staff, just... in case. Tama's said I shouldn't try to use it when I'm not at my best, so I don't plan to, but it's reassuring to have it."

"That's right," she says. "It goes both ways. But... hmmm." She considers. "Fish. And not, like, sushi--though sushi's fine, and I love sushi--just... fish. She complains all the time about how it was better around here when there were more fishing villages."

"Oh yeah no, I'm not the sparring type. But--great! I can give you some catch-up on that. If you understand the theory behind what you're doing better, maybe you can get closer with Strike Wolf!"

<Pose Tracker> Kyouka Okazaki [Juuban Public School (10)] has posed.

Kyouka nods in agreement. "Yeah... if there's stuff like that out there..." She slides the sleeve of her blazer up to reveal Strike Wolf. "... at least there's people like us out there to work against it."

It is a comfort, of a sort. A small one, sometimes, but a comfort nontheless.

"Yeah, she seemed really knowledgeable," Kyouka agrees. "Oh, and Shimanouchi-chan was there, too, actually."

Kyouka decides not to mention the things she said to the police department.

"I do insist," Kyouka says firmly. "If I do think it'll be an imposition I'll just say so." She's rather straightforward like that. "Actually, just in case, give me a few different ideas to work with when you send over the list of what you can't eat."

Kyouka doesn't begrudge anyone else making wishes, she just... has seen enough stories to know better.

Having your transformation artifact just in case when you aren't at your best... Oof. The reminder of how she was after the Dark Burger fight hits... a bit close to home, there. But now's not the time to burden Yumi with that. "Yeah, I hope it doesn't come to that."

"Right, fish, we talked about that before... does she like a particular kind, or...?" She can probably find a fish market or something somewhere nearby. "... what's the serving size on a raw fish for a cat, anyway...?" she wonders aloud.

"Thanks, I'd appreciate it. Strike Wolf and I have been working to better our bond, but..." There's a hesitation. She's not afraid to mention Strike Wolf's incomplete state to Yumi, not as much as she was before, but... she also doesn't want to burden her with more right now than she's already got. "... well, I'm finding myself... believing in magic? Or like... accepting it? Being open to the possibilities? You know?" Magic obviously existed whether she believed in it or not, but she's not sure how else to convey her feeling on the matter. "Much more than I was, anyway, which I think is helping, but I hate relying on something I don't understand, you know?"

<Pose Tracker> Yumi Ohzora [Infinity Institute (11)] has posed.

"Yes." Yumi nods, and it would seem more dramatic if she weren't in bed in a hospital gown, but the resolution on her face is plain all the same. There are people lke them.

"...It's nice, to see them working togeher," Yumi says.

"Hmmm. OK! Sure, I can do that." Something to work with...

"It probably won't. It hasn't yet, anyway. But when you're here for a while you have a lot of time to think up possibilities..."

"I think her favorite is mackeral. But she'll take most kinds." A laugh. "Mikoto-chan just brings her the whole thing, and that works out OK."

Yumi doesn't catch what Kyouka doesn't say for the moment. Insead, she nods. "It must be a big adjustment," she says. "The modern world is so sure it isn't there... but, well. It always has been." A ied smile. "Good. In that case, I'll put together some readings on basic mana theory for you--the stuff the Midchildans base their understanding on. That'll probably help you more than a witch's approach. But what it comes down to for you is, the resonance between your heart and your Device lets you perform magic that people who've done it all their lives can only dream of. That's why the bond's more important than you knowledge of magic... though the knowledge doesn't hurt!"

<Pose Tracker> Kyouka Okazaki [Juuban Public School (10)] has posed.

"Hopefully not... But you know, like Fate said. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need our help."

""Mackeral, huh? Okay, I'll keep that in mind..." She chuckles a little bit. "Yeah, that sounds right. I mean, I was probably going to do that too, I was just wondering how much to bring... seems only fair that if I'm bringing you a few days' worth of meals I do the same for her, that's all."

"Oh! I ran into Mikoto the other night while I was out getting some exercise. She showed me this arcade she knew about, with this dancing game in it? I've never played it before, but it was kinda fun. Interesting music, at least." A beat. "I'm sure my mom would take a little bit of umbrage at seeing dancing turned into a game like that, though."

"Yeah," she says in agreement, as Yumi explains about resonance. "We're... we're getting there. We.... well, we managed to unlock this amazing new spell together." She stretches her right hand out, the sleeve still pulled back so that Strike Wolf is visible. "Shining Moonlight Strike..." she says quietly. (It's a good thing it takes intent and not just the invocation of a name.) "We were in the middle of a fight and it just... clicked. Though... it's sometimes a little concerning just how much power the two of us have, you know? It's... a lot of responsibility."

<Pose Tracker> Yumi Ohzora [Infinity Institute (11)] has posed.

"I won't," Yumi assures Kyouka. "...I've got a lot of friends who want to look out for me. I just hope I can do as much for them, too. When I'm... feeling better."

"Ha. Yeah, when you put it that way, that's pretty fair. I don't even know how she eats all these fish that are as big as she is, but she does it. I guess magic must take a lot of energy or something."

A smile next. "Nice. That's a fun one. ...I'm no good at it," she laughs. "I'm not supposed to try it. But I can make people who are good at it look really good. That's what I do at the Fashion Club--I set it up so they can all be their best." She sounds fond, anyway. "Is your mother a dancer, then?"

"That sounds powerful," Yumi says. "Appropriate to a Wolf, too. ...That'll happen. It's happened to me a few times, though for the most part I have to study to figure out new spells. ...That's a good approach, though. It's a lot of responsibility--even those with nly a little power have responsibility, but for people like us..."

She nods.

<Pose Tracker> Kyouka Okazaki [Juuban Public School (10)] has posed.

"Count me as one of them," Kyouka says, a bit unecessarily. But she's mostly saying it to voice her support. "And hey, you'll be out of here and kicking ogre and wraith butt with the rest of us in no time. You'll see." A beat. "That's one of the other things that's comforting about all this... how there's just... a bunch of us who can come together when the situation calls for it."

"Yeah, maybe... I mean, I work out a lot and I've got a pretty big appetite, so maybe it's the same for magic, too..." she muses.

Kyouka chuckles. "Yeah, it took me some... getting used to, but I think I did okay? Mikoto's got some insane reflexes, though. I, ah... haven't played a lot of video games, truth be told. I mean, I know what they are, just... didn't really have a lot of them around when we were moving all oer the world." She poerks up. "Oh right, you said you work with them. How'd you get into that, anyway?"

She might not be a clotheshorse herself, or the most stylish person, but that doesn't mean she can't take an interest in a friend's hobbies.

"Oh! Yeah. She's teaching dance at Ohtori, actually. I might've forgotten to mention that. But she's been able to study dance all over the world because of our moving around, and I think that helped her get the job?"

"It's the strongest attack we have," Kyouka says in response to being powerful. "... Accidentally overdid it on the first go, but... the second time went better, at least. Kind of a long lead up, though... we're working on shortening it, but I guess power just takes time to accumulate." she takes a deep breath. "Yeah, I just have to remind myself that Strike Wolf chose me, so hopefully that means we both share the same views on how to use this power. Still trippy that all that strength lies inside me, though..."

<Pose Tracker> Yumi Ohzora [Infinity Institute (11)] has posed.

"Thanks," Yumi says, and it's a simple statement but it's sincere. She otices that support. "...Yeah! I hope so." She nods along. "That's true. It's good to know that while I'm stuck in here there's people to pick up the slack. ...And I can do that when they're busy, too, when I'm not... here."

"Haha, probably the same, right?"

"Oh, yeah. She's like. Mikoto-chan is just crazy good at things." Yumi beams. "I play a lot of video games, as you might guess. Indoor hobbies all the way, right" Then... how did she get involved with them? "You know? It feels at this point like I always have been. I don't entirely remember. ...But I wanted to get involved, and then I discovered that I could do the tech stuff, and so... that's how I help! I've done a lot of their shows, now. Lights and sound, that kind of thing. It lets me be part of it wihout having to be in the spotlight. It's... nice. And I get to see a lot of the new designs!"

"Oooh cool. That's awesome." Yumi enthuses a bit. "That's great! Getting to go all over the world for it... that's great." She smiles again. "Ohtori... Well. It's a great school and all. Hard to get around, though."

The strongest attack they have... "The most powerful spells all take leadup like that," Yumi says. "It just...takes time to gather up that much mana, I guess, and channel it." A beat, "But remember that, yeah. When you make a bond with an artifact that has a heart... you have a responsibility to them. And you have a bond. I mean, obviously, I guess. But it's important! You get to know what's important to them, and to you, too."

"...Heheheh. Crazy to think, right? But that kind of specialness... I think everyone has the potential for it. All these lives are important, you know?"

<Pose Tracker> Kyouka Okazaki [Juuban Public School (10)] has posed.

Kyouka finds a place that's not covered with bandages, IV tubes, or sensors to give Yumi a reassuring pat on the arm as she says 'not... here.' Her silent wy of saying 'Don't worry, we gotcha.'

"I mean, maybe! I was definitely wiped out after that fight with the ogre... heck, after the fight with Shadow Stern I slept through dinner, so..." she blinks. She hadn't meant to mention that, but oh well.

"Yeah, she did this crazy... backwards fall into a handstand move? Something I never would've thought to try in a million years, but she made it look easy." She chuckles, "Hey, I'm not knockin' 'em. I just don't have a lot of experience with them, is all." She looks thoughtful for a moment. "There's magical girl video games, right? How's the real experience compare to the game version?" She nods as Yumi explains about the shows. "Maybe I should check one out sometime..." she muses. "After all, clothing is just as much a part of the local culture as anything else, right...?"

"I mean, the world's a pretty big and interesting place, yeah... Not gonna complain about having had all those experiences. As for Ohtori though... My Mom was really pushing for it, but... Juuban felt like the kind of place I'd always wanted to go to." She pauses a moment. "Okay, well, I'd always really wanted to go to a school in the States, if I'm being honest, but... Juuban's got a nice atmosphere. I like it there. Though... Infinity might not've been too bad, either. A place where everyone works hard and pushes themselves to excel... I like that energy."

"Yeah... there's just not a lot we can do to circumvent the time needed to gather the power. I can only push out so much at once, you know? Though... I guess it does give me plenty of time for the incantation I need to fully synchronize with Strike Wolf for the attack, so I guess there's that."

Responsibility... Kyouka nods, looking to her device again. "Yeah... I made a promise to Strike Wolf, actually. To try and get him back to his creator. But until I can do that... well, we're both fighting the good fight, I guess."

She considers that thought. "You know, I kinda hope so. That'd be nice, if there was just like... a magical girl waiting to be awakened in anyone. Heck, maybe that's why there are as many of us as there are, because the potential is there..."

<Pose Tracker> Yumi Ohzora [Infinity Institute (11)] has posed.

Yumi's arm has a good spot for that. Yumi, for her part, seems to appreciate it--but Kyouka might notice she's a little chilly. Bad circluation.

"Oh, wow. Yeah, I see. I get pretty tired after fights sometimes too... though actually, I mostly feel energized, you know? So kind of the opposite." Shehe laughs a little nervously. "But oh, I see! Yeah, there's magical girl games! I do some of those, to. It's..." She considers. "The real version is messier," she decides. "But I wouldn't trade it for the games." Beat, "You should totally check them out! I can get you in sometime, too."

"Juuban's really great," Yumi says. "I like it a lot as a school. It's friendly, and it has a good atmosphere. Infinity has the more specialized facilities I need for my studies and my... me, but, I like visiting." A smile. "Infinity's got a good energy, too. And Ohtori... is a great school." That's about all she has to say about it though.

"Right. You have time for what you need! ...I think that's nice, that you're hoping to get him back to his creator. Some people would want to keep that power for themselves, instead."

Then she considers... and smiles again. "Yeah," she says. "I think it's like that."

She breathes out, and nods. "...Okay. They're probably going to tell me I should rest again soon. ...But I'm really happy you came."

<Pose Tracker> Kyouka Okazaki [Juuban Public School (10)] has posed.

Kyouka does notice, but doesn't say anything. Yumi's got it bad enough as it is, without her trying to play amateur doctor.

"Sanbu ended up not being so bad... might be because I'm getting used to things, or maybe I was just... amped up on adrenaline worrying about my mom, dunno. Oh, and after Shadow Stern we resynchronized, so maybe that helped everything function better, too..."

"Messier, huh? Yeah... I can see that..." She grins a little. "I'll take you up on that sometiome. You can explain to me all the stuff I don't understand, maybe." she adds with a little bit of a self-deprecating laugh.

Kyouka definitely notices that Yumi has nothing else to say about Ohtori and just grins a little more.

"Yeah, well... When I found him some mage had stolen him. He sent out a cry for help and... I was the one that heard it. Got him away from the mage, we made a contract... and here we are." There's a pause. "He wasn't done being built yet," she says quietly. "I think the mage must've stolen Strike Wolf from a lab or a workshop or something, but we haven't been able to find it. At first I just thought that I'd look around, find his creator, return him, and go on with my life but... seems like I might be at this a while longer." She shakes her head firmly at the thought of keeping the power. "That was the mage who stole him and forcibly tried to activate him. If that'd been me... I never would've heard Strike Wolf's cry for help."

She takes a deep breath and tries to clear her head of the gloomy thoughts of what happens once she returns Strike Wolf.

"Right, then. I should probably head out, too. Promised Tsugaru-chan I'd meet up with her and show her how to get to the amusement park since she's new to the area and all that." She smiles when Yumi says she was happy she came. "Hey, of course! What're friends for, right?" She seems a little bit more confident and self-assured in making that statement than she was previously.

She reaches out to pat Yumi--carefully--on the shoulder. "You get your rest. Text me that list of what kinds of things you'd like and what foods I should avoid when you can, okay? And don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything else I can do for you. You get better, okay?"

<Pose Tracker> Yumi Ohzora [Infinity Institute (11)] has posed.

It's why Yumi layers up so much, clothesways. "It helps when you're not alone," Yumi opines about Sanbu. "...And when things turn out OK, too."

Yumi beams back at Kyouka; it's nice to think she can do something helpful insead of just laying here being bored and sick. "You got it," Yumi answers. And she grins abck on Ohtori.

"Oh... like that, huh?" Yumi asks. "I found Lost Ivy in trouble, too--there was an ogre chasing Tama... I tried to fight it with my magic, but obviously an apprentice witch can't do much to an Ogre." She smiles again. "Yeah. Strike Wolf chose you. That matters. I'm glad you got him away from that mage... though I hope he doesn't track you down."

"Great! Have fun," Yumi says. "Get something super unhealthy to eat, for my sake, OK?" She laughs a little, smiling more when Kyouka mentions them being friends. "Righ."

"I'll do all that," she says. Text, reach out, and get better. "...See you, Kyouka-chan."
