 Thirteen spears bloom up, ripping chunks out of the concrete just before her feet, so tightly packed as to form a crude fence. They will do very little to stop a bullet...but they do make it harder to see.

How did that end? She cannot remember..and the fragment of the memory feels like an opportunity lost. Something that could've been, but never quite was. Surely they destroyed it...but how? She'd wanted to ask her old friend about it, to see if they could remember an ending together. But she knows now that it is never to be.
