Title: Lion Wrangling

Once known as the "Inner Sea," the shelter Tokyo Bay once provided for
merchants and fishermen helped Tokyo develop into the powerhouse that it is
today, nor is it less useful today. Japan's largest shipping ports operate
out of the Bay, as does its own navy and that of the US Forces. Herculean
efforts dredge up its silt to create artificial islands, and factories drink
its water to soothe their smoky throats.

To most residents, however, the Bay is simply blue water glittering,
salt-seasoned breezes, and gently drifting sails. The aptly named Rainbow
Bridge crossing the bay enhances rather than damages its beauty, its white
towers lit many nights by an artificial rainbow. A provincial visitor might
consider Tokyo Bay to be trimmed like a garden hedge; it has a number of
oddly geometric islands with arranged greenery, and any land touching the
water often makes the best of it with a park, intake valve, or other
imposition on nature. To a city-dweller, though, it is a miracle of open
  space and calm.
<Pose Tracker> Sourisi [Juuban Public School (9)] has posed.

Closing the lid of the white pastry box, Niramo wipes a speck of frosting that got on the box before letting out a content sigh. She hasn't made a cake since she met Takk due to him wanting her to focus more than unhealthy snacks, and she was afraid that she had lost her touch. Thankfully for her self-esteem and for the recipients of the cake, those fears are unfounded. "There we are, hopefully they like it. Now all that's left is to deliver it in person."

Hearing this, Takk floats upwards from the couch where he was watching a documentary on early flight and raises an eyebrow in his friend's direction. "Now how are you going to do that? You are currently grounded from visiting anyone while not at school." Flashing the Kwami a small grin, the ravenette nodded. "You're right, Niramo is. Sourisi, on the other hand..."

Tiny hand meets nose and Takk closes his eyes in exasperation. "Kasagami is starting to become a bad influence on you."

Climbing up the steps to the picturestic beach house, Sourisi is a little conflicted. While she was originally planning on just leaving the cake by the front door, she wasn't exactly sure when Steven and the Gems would be. Leaving the box out in the sun is not going to do wonders for the icing, but she was starting to get a little worried about just dropping in unannounced. "Well, I guess I just have to cross that bridge when I get to it." Taking in a deep breath, she knocked three times on the screen door. "Hello? Anyone home?"

<Pose Tracker> Steven Universe [Juuban Public School (6)] has posed.

Indeed, someone is home. A blur of pink can be seen streaking across the other side of the screen door. A young boy's voice can be heard calling out. "Lion! Hold still! It won't come off if you don't hold still!" A short kid can be see running around through the screen as well.

The home itself seems welcome, and undamaged despite everything that had gone down on the nearby beaches as of recent. It is almost surreal still to those i nthe household that they are back on Earth, going about their business. Chasing Lion.

That last part is more recent.

Flip-flops echo across the floor as SOurisi knocks, and a few moments later, it opens, and Steven is there, looking a little tired and groggy. "Hi, how can I help-- OH!" Steven suddenly realizes who is at the door. "H-Heeey! Sew, So, Suh... uhm. How did you say your name again?" he asks politely. He knows it was fancy and started with an S.

"Come on inside! Theres plenty of places to sit--"

The couch goes tumbling upside down over by the counter. "Ah, some places to sit." Lion, meanwhile, is tearing around the beach house, and the reason why is obvious. A GameCube controller has gotten tangled around his backside, and the plastic tapping him and following him is freaking him out! "Not the couch! Come /on/!" A look to Sourisi. "He decided to play with it and got tangled around him. Cats, huh?"

At least with Sourisi's arrival, he gets a second to breathe. THe boy sees that box. Wonder what it is?

<Pose Tracker> Sourisi [Juuban Public School (9)] has posed.

When a flash of pink zooms by the screen door, Sourisi thought it was Steven wearing his iconic pink shirt at first. Was he on a sugar rush, or getting attacked? But no, Steven is chasing the pink blur in an attempt to remove...'It'?

Not exactly the scene she expected herself to see when she came visiting.

Steven stumbling over her name causes the magical girl to giggle, remembering back to her first attempts to say her alias. "It's Sou-ris-i, though it took me a few hours to pronounce it right. It's a variant of the French word for mouse, so if you just want to call me Mouse, that's fine too, Steven-san!"

Smiling at Steven's polite invitation, Sourisi takes a step inside only to jump back in time to evade a couch cushion that was sent flying by the pink feline. The offending gaming controller is being quite the conduit of chaos right now as Lion tries to evade the constant tapping and was only making things worse for himself. "I always wanted a cat when I was younger, but my parents never would let me have a pet. Something to do with an aunt having 10 cats in her apartment."

Seeing Steven's eyes flicker to the box, Sourisi moves towards the fridge and quickly places the box inside. There's not a chance she's letting her hard work and Steven's present get destroyed! "It's a present for you and the other Gems I made, but I think I should help you calm down...um...what's his name?"

Blushing a bit from embarrasment, she focuses on Lion and and gets into a ready stance, ready to chase after him. "Anyways, you do your best to corner him, then i'll jump on him and get the controller free! This is a game I don't think he wants to play."

<Pose Tracker> Steven Universe [Juuban Public School (6)] has posed.

"Oh cool! Okay, I think I got it now." The boy looks her up and down. "Yeah, I can understand that name!" There was a motif to her outfit after all. "What?!" Wow, that's a lot of cats!" the boy remarks at one person owning ten. "Lion is a handful by himself! I don't think I can do any more of him. And as for him being a pet, I can't say that's what he is. I found him at a Gem ruin in the desert, and he sorta just... stuck to me!"

"Oh, awesome! Thank you!" he comments toward the gift, placed in the safe fridge, away from rampaging cats. "We just call him Lion. Doesn't have a name or anything. I tried names, but he only answers to Lion."

Currently, Lion has made his way to the back crystal cave area of the beach house, and is running circles around the Warp Pad. "Oh, yeah! It should be way easier to get him with two people!" Steven begins to hustle his way on over toward that area. "If we can get in front of him, he will stop! He wouldn't wanna hurt anyone. I just haven't been able to on my own."

<Pose Tracker> Sourisi [Juuban Public School (9)] has posed.

"He certainly looks like a handful. I can't imagine trying to hide him from my parents if I ever brought him home." After all, the big cat was easily bigger than her or Steven, but she remembers Steven riding Lion the few times she seen the two together, so he must play nice. The last part from Steven has the mouse girl take her eyes off Lion for a moment, staring wide-eyed at the young boy. "Wait, you been to a desert before? I lived here most of my life, so I can't imagine what is must be like, except for maybe a beach with no water. Wonder if its' like anything they show on television... "

Wait, now isn't the time to get side-tracked by asking Steven where he's been. There's cat herding to be done! With Lion rushing around the teleport platform, he's at least in one enclosed area now, but who knows how long that's going to last at this rate. "Alright then, i'll get in front and you get that controller off of Lion. Hopefully this won't be too rough."

"So he's more a family member that doesn't speak back, right? Wait, he's pink, maybe he's just shy." Following after Steven into the back and into the natural cave, she waits a moment before jumping out in front of Lion, arms spread wide and palms open, showing herself to not be a threat and trying to make herself as big as possible. "Time to see if a mouse can catch a cat!"

<Pose Tracker> Steven Universe [Juuban Public School (6)] has posed.

"He can be," Steven responds with, edging toward the cave section slowly. "But he means well. Even if he is a bit goofy. Oh! Yeah, been to one before. Its a lot like the television! Hot, dry, lots and lots of sand." He points to the Warp Pad. "We used that! They go to wherever there is another! It's how Gems get around."

Pearl might be angry about telling folks secrets, but eh. Sourisi helped save the world. She can know that! "Okay, sounds good!" the boy says to her plan. While flip-flops arent the sneakiest footwear, Lion is too pre-occupied with his dilemma to care about encroaching magical youngsters.

"If he could talk, boy I bet he would have some things to say! A lot of people have talking animals it feels like, but Lion doesn't." He punders as he waits for his moment to move in. "To be fair, he has a lot of super strong and cool powers in trade!"

Sourisi moves in front of Lion as he makes a round, and Lion shrinks backward and hits the brakes on his super-fast running! He shids to a halt, the last inches of movement causing him to gently thud into Sourisi. Lion just kinda... stares at Sourisi, perplexed at this person. Dressed like a mouse. Stopping him from running. What is this even.

Steven quickly moves up, and starts trying to untangle the cord!

<Pose Tracker> Sourisi [Juuban Public School (9)] has posed.

Sourisi is so glad Takk isn't actually present right now, because there would be little stopping the curious Kwami from trying to tamper with the Warp Pad right now. But considering Takk can remember everything she does and says when they're transformed...it might be best to hold him to another promise. "Oooh, so it wasn't just something that giant Robonoid did here, then. I'm sure it beats rooftop hopping as a means to get around!"

Possible incoming threats from secretive Gems aside, she realizes that's not normally something to be told to everyone, and she was already feeling guilty enough realizing who exactly Steven was. A little bit of a secret trade wouldn't hurt. "Well, I have one of those talking animals too, but he's incredibly destructive to technology if I don't stop him. I used to have an old flip phone, but he turned it into a microwave. I'm...still trying to figure out how he did that, to be honest."

As Lion steps on the brakes and tries to come to a stop on the slick floor, Sourisi closes her eyes and braces for the impact!...only to feel a light jostling as he finally stops. Opening and locking her eyes with Lion, the two stare at each other, not quite sure what to do in this situation. This close, she thought she would be a little scared of the giant feline, but she wanted to try something if she never gets the chance again. One of her gloved hands reach up before they start stroking through Lion's mane, marveling at just how smooth it was. "You...really have a soft mane. Just how do you do it, Lion?"

Sourisi can't believe she's a little jealous right now.

<Pose Tracker> Steven Universe [Juuban Public School (6)] has posed.

"Well," Steven replies with, trying to undo all the knots and tangles Lion made for himself in the space of a few minutes. It seems almost impossible to have caused this many so fast! "Yeah, its pretty cool! But there's so few, I don't think there's even another one in Tokyo, so I am stuck running around after badguys and stuff." The boy won't lie. He's jealous of the magical girls that can fly! And those with the ability to leap from building to building effortlessly.

He's stuck on foot.

"He... he did what?" the boy asks. "That's... actually kinda neat! You can make popcorn anywhere if you have a phone and they are around!"

Lion doesn't seem to mind any amount of pettings that happen. In some sort of funny trade, the cat begins to paw at the trappings and frills of Sourisi's miraculous costume. He looks like he is trying to figure her out, having not seen something like this before.

Lion's mane is indeed soft. It is either maintained very well by the cat himself (or Steven by extension) or some kind of magical thing about him keeps it clean and feeling great.

"Got it!" Steven says, holding up the controller. THe device looks no worse for the wear from the trip around the room. "Durable," he comments, setting it down. "Thanks for the help! Looks like he appreciates it too."

<Pose Tracker> Sourisi [Juuban Public School (9)] has posed.

Hearing that the heroic boy didn't even have the means for rooftop transportation has the mouse girl looking off to the side at Steven, surprised. He could do so much but he didn't have that extra agility that a lot of magical warriors, herself included, took for granted? "Really? Well if Lion isn't around to help you get to higher ground to travel fast, I can help out, as long as you don't mind riding on my shoulders. I did that with the girl with that giant black sword when the Handship was landing, so it shouldn't be a problem."

Oh great, Steven was actually praising Takk. She can only hope the Kwami doesn't already get a bigger head from this. "It is handy, but he never did figure out how to turn it back to normal. I had to ask for a new phone after mine 'mysteriously broke'."

Sourisi's bodysuit is getting a close examination for the first time, and she can only laugh as a giant paw swats at one of her 'ears', only for it to bounce right back up afterwards. Despite Lion being a very bright shade of pink, he really was just like a normal lion. Well, a normal lion that can teleport and roar supersonic waves.

Petting Lion one last time once Steven got his controller free, Sourisi steps back and nods in satisfaction in a job well done. "Oh, good! Getting a controller can cost as much as a new game lately. Whoever says gaming is a cheap habit knows nothing of just how bad it can be-oh, right!"

Snapping her fingers as she remembers, Sourisi runs back over to the fridge and pulls out the box and sets it down on the counter before opening the lid. Taking out the cake and sliding the empty box to the side, the mouse girl motions the cake in question. "It...may not seem like an appropriate thank you after everything you and the Crystal Gems did back on the Handship, but I had to do something. Best to play with what I do best, after all."

The cake in question was sectioned off in four sections, in the color schemes of the Gems and Steven . Garnet icing with two gems on a red velvet cake, amethyst icing and gem on a darker violet cake and a pearl icing and gem on a lemon cake slice for the three Gems. Steven would have his own portion, a bright pink with a yellow star icing on top of a pink lemonade portion. The cake was already precut but was fitted together perfectly.

<Pose Tracker> Steven Universe [Juuban Public School (6)] has posed.

"Oh, totally!" Steven replies with. "That'd be cool! I have had others give me lifts before! I don't weigh /too/ much, thankfully." The boy holds his tummy. He looks like he might be a little heavy, but nothing out of the realms of anyone magical to manage. The boy fondly remembers the ride Nanoha gave him to reach atop the moving airline aircraft to safe it from a frightening red monster. That was ridiculously fast flying.

"Oof. Phones cost a lot these days, too! Hope you don't have to pay a phone bill for something that isn't a phone anymore." A look back to that controller. It has seen some good use over the years, survives incidents like this, and keeps working. A shame they aren't majorly sold anymore. "Yeah, finding one of those controllers would be hard. Probably at a flea market or something-- ah, actually, does Tokyo have flea markets?" the boy asks, rubbing his chin. He hasn't seen one. They are the best place to find cool old stuff!

Steven watches that box get opened by Sourisi after climbinb up on a stool as if she was opening a treasure chest. His eyes alight with stars as he sees the cake. "No! Food is good! THis is just fine!" he says, jittering on the stool. "WAIT."

The boy fumbles down from the stool and runs to pick up his phone, which was on the floor near where the couch once was. Meanwhile, Lion comes over to check out the cake himself. "Ohhhhh /no/ you dont!" the boy says, from down below, and puts his boy wonder strength to use, puuuuushing Lion a good six feet to the side, as the animal slides on the wood polished floor, and looks down at the boy.

"He will go for food," Steven comments, hopping back up, taking out his camera, and readies to take a picture of that cake! "Do you want in or out of it?" he asks the mouse ninja. "I know some people wanna keep a low profile with their magical identity."

"Also... did you make this?" he asks gingerly. He though he heard her say 'play with what I do best' . It is literally a Crystal Gem cake. This is infinitely better than the Together Breakfast idea.

<Pose Tracker> Sourisi [Juuban Public School (9)] has posed.

A shake of the negative when Steven asked about the phone payments. "Thankfully no, it was a hand-me -down and I ended getting a much needed upgrade because of it, so it's not all bad. I might see about asking my 'companion' to make another one for you, if you like. He's annoyed that his 'talents are wasted upon someone who doesn't deserve them.'" This imitation was complete with a high-pitched yet trying to be deeper voice at the same time.

"Well, there's second-hand stores all over the place if you know where to look, and the flea markets usually have advertisements before they show up online, but they're only for a weekend, but you can find the most amazing stuff there!" Ah, it looks like Sourisi enjoys browsing through flea markets too. She's managed to find quite a few old games that way that would normally cost more than her allowance online!

As Steven deals with Lion, Sourisi would take the chance to move the couch back to the side, where she remembered it being as Niramo. Thankfully the magical strength she has makes this so much easier to do, otherwise it would be a struggle to get it upright. Why did she have to be so short?! At least the cushions were not on a ceiling fan, that would just be annoying to deal with.

Raising an eyebrow at Lion, she had to realize that Steven likely has to deal with a lot of food being eaten and/or stolen by the feline. "Well, he is so big, so he has to get hungry. I'll make him something else the next time I get a chance, he deserves his own thank you, after all."

Steven's questions do raise a valid point for Sourisi. She's not fighting for fame or glory, but being recognized would be nice. "Well...alright, but at long as you don't show it to anyone who doesn't know about magic, not even your best friends. And...well...yes, I had to go to several stores for all the ingredients, but I can tell it's worth it. I been cooking for years, but my 'companion' has been making sure I don't just try to make myself sweets anymore."

Walking back over to the cake (and petting Lion again as she passes by), the mouse ninja stands behind the cake and poses with a hand raised up, like Sailor V does in her show. "This should be good, Steven-san!"

<Pose Tracker> Steven Universe [Juuban Public School (6)] has posed.

"That actually sounds pretty neat! Sounds like the tinkering type!" If they can make a microwave from a phone, imagine what they could do with a uh, a bigger phone! Or a television! Or possibly Gem tech...! "Oh cool! Glad they are here! I was unsure at first. They are fun to get stuff in." Sometimes Steven just went to them for the sake of going to them.

"Lion usually finds his own food. I'm honestly not sure what he eats. Ive seen him eating lizards, he's eaten hot dogs, and... he doesn't eat raw meat like a normal Lion. at least I dont think he does. He turned down raw steaks before."

THe correct answer is that it is a mystery as to what his diet consists of. Does he even need to eat, like Gems? He is obviously magical, but he isn't a Gem. Unless there's one under the mane. Nah, he would have found it already.

The boy begins to ready his phone again to take a picture. "Oh, sure! I'll make sure not to. If someone somehow finds it on the phone otherwise, I will say costume party!" It is always good to have a backup plan for that one percent chance of when a phone gets abducted by nosy people. "Oh neat! I'll have to get pointers sometime from you for the Cooking Club!"

The single club he is in. Though technically he is in Kendo now? He kinda got railroaded into that, though.

"Awesome pose! Hold still! 3... 2... 1..."

Click. And another fun time memory is made.
