Title: Waterlogged Field Trip
Summary:

The Sister Schools elementary-aged students are having a field trip to Verone Aquarium, with some of the older kids volunteering (or having been volunteered) as chaperones. An enjoyable otter show is unfortunately interrupted by a being of ancient wisdom and mischief: The Watery. Can it be stopped, or is it too slippery to catch?

Who:

Sakura Kinomoto, Mami Tomoe, Nori Ankou, Fuu Hououji, Hikaru Shidou, Lera Camry
GM: Juri Arisugawa

Where:

Verone Aquarium

OOC - IC Date:

21 May 2014 - 02/07/2015

<Pose Tracker> Juri Arisugawa [Ohtori Academy (11)] has posed.

The Verone Aquarium is packed with red, yellow and blue uniforms. The vast majority are of the elementary persuasion, and gaggles of kids roam the complex, pressing their hands and faces up against the glass to stare at the undersea panorama. Others attend the larger wildlife shows, sitting in neat rows of plastic seats and getting more or less soaked depending on how far forward they dare to cluster.

Older kids, volunteered or press-ganged into chaperone duty, circulate at much lower density. Most are taking their jobs less-than-seriously; what danger could come to kids at an aquarium? Others, however, have risen to the occasion, becoming tour guides and occasional taskmasters.

Regardless of age, it is lunchtime, and so in this moment the aquarium's cafe, set right in the middle amongst the tanks, is overflowing. Many students brought bento from home, and this is perfectly acceptable, but many more saved up allowance to buy themselves a treat. Especially popular is the strawberry-milk shaved ice, perfect on a warm May day. It is being ground laboriously by a student, probably high school aged but in a waiter's black and white uniform, with slightly messy brown hair and a thunderous scowl.

The person currently at the front of the line, wearing the russet red blazer of a Juuban High Schooler, is his opposite; slender where the waiter is hearty, pale where he is dark, and with a soft, gentle smile.

"I can't believe you ordered two of these," the waiter, Touya Kinomoto, says, in between grunts as he cranks the handle on the machine.

Yukito Tsukishiro gives his most beatific look. His long eyelashes bat a home run.

"...well, maybe I can believe it."

<< ding Ding DING DONG! The Otter Show will begin in three minutes at Pool 3. I repeat, the Otter Show will begin in three minutes at Pool 3. Thank you for your attention. >>

<Pose Tracker> Fuu Hououji [Infinity Institute (9)] has posed.

While Fuu figured this was probably going to be an easy thing to volunteer for when she signed up, she *IS* taking her job as a chaperone seriously - keeping an eye on the students under her nominal charge, keeping groups at least semi-organized, and doing regular headcounts. Her group has already gotten their shaved ice; the announcement of the Otter Show prompts a couple of them to try and start bolting what's left of their cold, sweet desserts. Fuu promptly tries to rein them in so they don't choke, "It's all right, we have time. Pool number three is just over there, see?"

"We wanna get good seats, though!" protests one of the boys; Fuu just smiles gently. "There'll be plenty of good seats to choose from - they want everyone to be able to see, after all."

And on that note, Fuu finishes the last bite of her bento, wraps the box up, and tucks it back into her bookbag as her young charges finish their shaved ices. They might be cutting it a little close, but they'll be there in decent time nonetheless; she makes sure they all put the empty (or mostly-empty) dishes where they need to go and leads the group towards Pool 3, keeping her eyes open as she goes for other familiar faces. She can't really take the time to chat at this point, but she can at least remember who's here to send texts or something after everyone's home for the day.

<Pose Tracker> Lera Camry [Infinity Institute (10)] has posed.

Lera Camry volunteered to be a chaperone, because she liked the idea. It sounded so fun! She could watch the younger kids on the trip to the aquarium; she volunteered the moment that they asked. She is wearing her sky blue uniform, the blazer fixed snugly over her tie, and she feels a little like a tour guide. There was a spring in her step for the entire time, as she walks; she beams brightly the entire time, but finally, she reaches lunch. She stands just a little bit behind Touya.

She lets him order first, while she keeps an eye on her younger students. She looks at Touya, then she looks at Yukito, and she smiles a bit wider.

"Yep," she murmurs to herself, "this field trip gets better and better!"

<Pose Tracker> Nori Ankou [Ohtori Academy (9)] has posed.

Nori Ankou is not normally someone who volunteers to be a chaperone. Oh, she's no ogre; she's helped out the stray elementary student at Ohtori here and there, but she's not a figure typically associated with guiding the younger set.

But today she is here, dressed smartly and with a signalling paddle with the Ohtori insignia on one side and a banana on the other. (The chosen theme for organizing sets for this purpose has been fruits, from Apple down to Strawberry. Nori doesn't question these things.)

She has been eating a bento featuring a lot of sardines, having foregone the shaved ice. There's a gleam in her eyes. It's a good day - and why?

The otter show is announced.

Nori's lip quivers, her heart swelling with joy. She sets her chopsticks down and declares, "Everyone, please finish up and gather your bento. We have to hurry, so quickly, quickly!" She picks up the paddle and holds it above her head, possibly to signal strays as she tops her own container and wraps it in its dark blue cloth.

<Pose Tracker> Sakura Kinomoto [Juuban Public School (4)] has posed.

"Touya!" a tiny voice hisses, sitting from a nearby bench within eye sight (and hearing) of the two older boys. She gives him a look that only an aggrieved younger sibling can manage, "Don't be mean to Yukito-san! His appetite is /healthy./" Or so the lone female of the Kinomoto family explained such a voracious appetite. After all, not eating was the opposite, so it stood to her that her brother was being ridiculous towards the object of her affections.

The other children Sakura is sitting with (the usual Juuban culprits): Tomoyo, Rika, Naoko, Chiharu, and Yamazaki, had all been sitting at a bench nearby to eat their lunches and engrossed in discussion over the sea life they have seen at this point. As the children finish up, Sakura is almost too busy glaring at her older brother for his perceived meanness that she almost misses the announcement. Upon hearing it, however, she bolts up in excitement. In almost record time, she has managed to throw the remaining trash away, pack up her bento, and like an overeager puppy, she hurries to the door in awaiting her friends.

As she fixes her red uniform, under her breath the excitement is clear. "Otter-san, otter-san, otter-san!" Her mantra continues while after the others catch up, Sakura is paces ahead of everyone else, doing her best to work her way riiiiiight up to the glass to watch the show.

Excitement is an understatement.

<Pose Tracker> Mami Tomoe [Ohtori Academy (10)] has posed.

"Now, make sure to sit together; it's important that we all stay with one another." Mami says this from her position now-seated at a table near a bunch of kids, sipping her cup of tea elegantly as if her yellow uniform were the mark of some kind of royalty. ...All in all she is doing a mostly good job of pretending she has some idea of what she's doing.

It's not that Mami Tomoe didn't volunteer, precisely. Certainly she is too kind and sisterly to leave children alone when they need supervision! It's just that...

Well, it's just that she was told that she could make time to help out at the aquarium, or the multiple assignments she'd forgotten that week would be counted against her grade. And said grade would be /posted/. On the wall.

She brought her /own/ lunch, of course. But she has chosen a seat close to the lines where she can glance once in amusement at the two boys at the machine. But...

Oh dear. Her careful order, met by... otters. Otters in the middle of strawberry milk shaved ice lines.

<Pose Tracker> Hikaru Shidou [Juuban Public School (9)] has posed.

Hikaru has nothing better to do with her time in general, so volunteering as a chaperone comes quick to her. She's accompanying her school's students to the aquarium, and while she's trying to be fair with them, she also comes off as a bit strict at times as well. Nevertheless, she's done the best she can to keep things going as smoothly as possible. Now that they've made it to the otter show, Hikaru is hoping that they'll settle down and she'll have a chance to relax...

<Pose Tracker> Juri Arisugawa [Ohtori Academy (11)] has posed.

With improbable speed -- presumed, at least, because nobody actually really saw him move -- Yukito is waiting for Sakura at the door, right in her path, unavoidable. Possibly bumped right into. Either way, he's proferring that second dessert with an offhandedly gentle expression. "This is for you, Sakura-chan -- shaved ice, to celebrate your special day. If you eat it too fast, your brain will turn hard as a rock, so be careful! Now, don't miss your show!" Food is allowed in some of the show areas, and the otters' stage is one of them.

Having done his random good deed of the day towards an elementary schooler, Yukito wades back into the crowd, chuckling and shaking his head as Touya opines under his breath, "Her head is already hard as a rock."

The otters, meanwhile, come out in a line, beckoned by a lady in a wetsuit who is already in the main tank. Her smile is dazzling, but the creatures themselves are infinitely moreso. How they waddle! How they toddle! Those button eyes, that soft fur, the bushy whiskers!

And how gracefully they swim in the water, despite their relative clumsiness on land!

At the lady's call, they swoop through an ever-more complex series of rings, while an announcer waxes rhapsodic on the many interesting facts of otter life. When they've successfully completed a task, they are rewarded -- perhaps bribed, post facto -- with little fish from the lady's bucket.

A particularly bold soul keeps trying to sneak fish out of it when she's looking the other way, but she catches him, and waggles her finger in rejection, every time.

<Pose Tracker> Fuu Hououji [Infinity Institute (9)] has posed.

By luck or by careful selection, Fuu's charges are fairly swiftly entranced by the otters' performance - probably paying more attention to the animals than any of them are to the narration. Fuu herself just watches and listens with a smile - you can never tell when a science teacher is going to take advantage of an activity that *wasn't* on the official class curriculum, after all ...

Still, Fuu keeps a measure of her attention on the children she's supposed to be shepherding. Just because their full attention seems to be on the otter show doesn't mean they won't wander away in one direction or another; fortunately, it's a worry that seems unnecessary.

<Pose Tracker> Lera Camry [Infinity Institute (10)] has posed.

"Hold on," Lera tells one of the girls she is helping to chaperone. She takes a deep breath and looks towards Touya. His friend is talking to Sakura -- and the otters are going -- so now is her moment. Her golden-brown eyes widen with a mix of delight, as she realizes that she has an opportunity to talk to Touya! She can't pass this moment up! And thus, she takes a few steps forward, before she sees the otters playing. Her lips open up and she blinks a couple of times.

"W-Wow," she murmurs, before she shakes her head quickly. No, no, focus! The otters may be cute, but there is a cute boy, and she promised she would try to at least say hi to them sometimes.

So she walks forward, and rehearses what she was going to say in her mind: 'Hi! I'm Lera, these are cute, huh? I love otters!'

She walks up to Touya, then, and looks at the cool and athletic boy for a moment. She flashes a beaming smile at him, and then she folds her hands in front of her. Lera squeaks out: "H-Hi, I'm an otter! These are cute, huh? I love Lera!"

Then she turns bright red and hangs her head.

<Pose Tracker> Hikaru Shidou [Juuban Public School (9)] has posed.

As the otters come out and begin their performance, the kids are mesmerized by them. There are a few oohs and ahhs, but the kids are pretty much well behaved. For Hikaru, she simply smiles and glances between the kids and the otters, loving how the kids can be mesmerized by the antics of well-trained animals. To Hikaru it may not mean as much to her as it does to the kids, but as long as the kids are remaining well-behaved is all that matters.

As Hikaru begins to lean back and stretch a little, she begins to recall just how difficult some of the younger ones were when she first tried to get them organized and rounded up. A few were more intent on messing around or just being ignorant, and while Hikaru tried to keep her patient side showing, even she had her limits. She ended up taking on a firm note with them, and eventually ended up bellowing for attention from them. That ended up doing the trick and keeping them in line for most of the day. Except for a few minor incidents here and there, the kids have been well behaved.

"Sure beats taking another exam," Hikaru thinks to herself as she shifts back to the present moment. "I just hope nothing goes wrong for a change."

<Pose Tracker> Nori Ankou [Ohtori Academy (9)] has posed.

While trooping up to tank 3, Nori says with vivacity, "Tomoe-san, good afternoon," but otherwise is content to guide the Banana Tribe to their assigned seats. Once everyone's bottoms are firmly planted, she sets herself down in the aisle seating and folds her hands on her lap and watches the show!

She smiles to herself. "They're so clever, aren't they?" she remarks to an awe-struck child --

And then glances at someone declaring they're an otter nearby. Nori frowns, but it's a concerned, puzzled sort of frown. Is ottermania overwhelming the Infinity students...?

<Pose Tracker> Sakura Kinomoto [Juuban Public School (4)] has posed.

"Uwaa! Thank you,Yukito-san!~" she calls out in a sing-song voice. There is no day better than today. Absolutely none. Not only was she at the aquarium, but she was at the aquarium with /Yukito-san/ and he got her shaved ice?

Her cheeks become heated and rouge, and she gently takes the treat from him. "Yukito-san, do you have a favorite animal here?" Her eyes work their way up to the tall boy, slowly sneaking bites on the shaved ice in heeding his warning about brain-freeze. "This is really, really good!"

Content and blissful, Sakura continues to sneak bites of the ice cream between marveling at the water mammals. Her eyes are lit up and she makes squeals of joy at each trick.

"Did you know that otters were once used by ships to navigate the seas? It is because they have an internal system that-" Yamazaki has a finger in the air along with his eyes being closed before being cut off by an annoyed Chiharu, "Stop lying and enjoy the show!"

<Pose Tracker> Juri Arisugawa [Ohtori Academy (11)] has posed.

Unfortunately for Sakura, Yukito seems to have vanished faster thans he could ask her question about animals. That will have to wait for another day.

Touya, on the other hand, is very tall, and rather rakish, as he looks over at Lera.

He cocks a single, bemused eyebrow. "Nice to meet you, Otter-san."

There's a beat of silence.

"Excuse me, I have to get back to work."

And he's gone, disappearing down some stairs towards the basement. Maybe he needs more supplies.

Or maybe it's the otter expert who's in need of supplies; her bucket is starting to run low. Her charges, or perhaps her friends, seem to be taking it in pretty good grace, at least. When she submerges herself into the water completely, they dance around her in a furry ring.

Their swirls and spirals become more complex and impressive, and finally they leap as one towards the surface, breaking it to clap their paws at the audience in an inversion of the performance so far.

One, the fish hog, seems a little confused, though, and looks down worriedly for their trainer. She's supposed to have hit the surface with them, but instead she's still a good five feet underwater. Clearly visible through the glass, it's as though her ankle is trapped in something hard.

But there's nothing there but swirling water...

The otter swims down to butt his head against her ankle, and is abruptly trapped as well, trapped and spinning at dizzingly high speeds inside some kind of micro-whirlpool.

That doesn't look cute at all, or fun. It just looks painful.

<Pose Tracker> Lera Camry [Infinity Institute (10)] has posed.

"Right, sure, yes, great to meet you, have fun doing your work," Lera says with her head still hanging. She sighs, her shoulders slumping, before she looks up. She sees the bright swirling patterns, though, and she smiles. It cheers her up at first, because why be kept down? It is a pretty show! Her eyes widen a moment later, though, as she catches sight of the trainer, and realizes: she might be trapped.

"Oh, no," she murmurs quietly to herself. Then, she calls out louder: "Hey! Staff--she's trapped in there! We gotta get her out!"

She begins looking around for an entrance door to the back area, or perhaps a way to the top of the tank. She could transform and break the tank, but that might hurt the fish! Her lips tighten into a line. "Hang on, okay? We'll get you out!"

<Pose Tracker> Mami Tomoe [Ohtori Academy (10)] has posed.

Despite her concerns otherwise, it seems that the promise of adorable animals is enough to largely keep the younger students together, letting Mami stand behind the group and keep an eye out for each of them. "Good afternoon," she is happy to reply to her fellow chaperone, but is soon watching the otters, herself, little trick after little trick. She sighs over her own shaved ice.

...It was the right shade of pink to remind her of someone she'll have to tell about the trip.

She stops worrying about it regardless and lets herself be immersed in the chatter and in the show, even as it gets more and more elaborate, until she sees the missing piece as the last otter looks back down. Mami frows slightly as she looks to see something there...

"All right, everyone, it's time for us to move back to the lunch area for a moment! We'll be planning the next activity from there!" She starts to usher the closest stuens back that way as she turns this way and that, eyes scanning the crowd. Her voice, at least, is soft but also authoritative, soothing in a way she's used to being. But then she finds what she's looking for, stepping towards an adult woman dressed nicely with a nametag marking her one of the staff.

"Excuse me!" Mami starts, stepping closer and turning to point towards the glass to explain, "The trainer, she's--"

But the aquarium worker only glances at her once before staring. "I--I'm sorry, I don't know what's happening--"

And now Mami, at least, is occupied with students /and/ staff for the moment.

<Pose Tracker> Nori Ankou [Ohtori Academy (9)] has posed.

Nori's head swivels to look at Yamazaki abruptly. But he's cut off. Disappointment. Nori makes a mental note to ask Batiste later about his internal navigation systems.

But then!! The scene. The sight of the woman diving in makes Nori think wistfully - when I am grown and done with school, that will be me amongst the seas, and --

Any dreams about long distance swimming amongst a furry cavalcade of adorable friends, guiding her across strange dark seas in perfect safety by their internal GPS receivers, are thrown when the trainer's deep dive is made clearly not part of the show.

'Ahh, he's helping her -' 'Oh no!' 'Wah!' 'Is she OK, Ankou-san?!'

Nori tightens up, surrounded by multiple stressors at once. "Everyone, please," she says -- 'Otter-san' down there is moving towards the tank, but... Caught between the horns of a dilemma, the most she can muster in this instant is an effort to soothe anxious children!

<Pose Tracker> Sakura Kinomoto [Juuban Public School (4)] has posed.

As soon as the notices the trapped trainer and otter, her eyes widen. Quickly seeking Yukito after not receiving an answer, she is suddenly grateful for his disappearance. Knowing Yukito, he was likely busy trying to get help! (or so she was telling herself). For now, Sakura's attention is back on the individuals who were stuck in the swirling waters, pounding on the glass. "Otter-san, please be OK!" she cries out, continuing to join in the chorus of concern.

If she had not been busy pounding on the glass and moving, she might have noticed a sudden jerk from her backpack. While he was risking a scolding, the Guardian Beast poked his head from underneath the flap on her backpack, "Sa-ku-ra-chaan! What is goin' on out there?! It feels like--"

Unfortunately for him, she had not been able to hear the beast over the commotion before Tomoyo nudged her in the side, holding her camera in the other hand. Quietly, she began whispering, "Sakura-chan, do you think?"

At that, Sakura perks. "I think you're right, Tomoyo-chan!"

"I know she is! That's what I was sayin'!" The beast slowly makes its way out of her backpack and onto her shoulder, resting as a stuffed animal might.

"Kero-chan!" she calls out surprised, before bringing her attention back to the glass. "Tomoyo-chan, did you happen to bring?"

"I would never miss an opportunity for Cute Sakura-chan!"

On that note, the Cardcaptor begins darting past the chaperones, the familiar-to-some guardian beast resting on her shoulder, with the videographer following past. Once they manage to get a safe enough distance; which is when she changes into the outfit provided by her friend. A blue hat with bells at the end with a white jesters costume underneath, complete with blue gloves.

Once completed, she grabs the key from her necklace and holds it out, a magical circle forming underneath, "Key which hides the powers of the dark, show your true form before me!"

The key begins growing into a staff, at which point she reaches out to grab it, "I, Sakura, command you under our contract! Release!"

<Pose Tracker> Hikaru Shidou [Juuban Public School (9)] has posed.

The kids don't seem to notice something's wrong at first, but Hikaru does. She looks to the children and puts on a brave face as she says, "Nobody leave here, I'll be right back, OK?" She then stands up and looks around, attempting to locate what could be a control room or something. When that doesn't work, she quickly looks for the nearest staff member, calling out that there might be an emergency and they need to do something fast.

When the worker says she doesn't know what's happening, Hikaru quickly calls out, "There must be an emergency shutdown mechanism! Or something similar, right?" She glances around then looks at the worker again. "Hold on, I'm going to call for help! I saw some payphones nearby!" She then looks to the children and says, "As for all of you, stay here and don't leave until I get back!"

The clicking of Hikaru's black shoes can be heard as she rushes out of the area and heads for the area where the payphones are. But she's not calling for help just yet. Instead, she's ducking into the women's restroom, then hiding in one of the stalls. "This isn't just a malfunction," Hikaru says to herself with her eyes closed and a deep scowl forming on her face. "There's definitely something going wrong here, and I'm going to have to help make it right!" She pulls out her glove-jewel and slips it on. "Belief becomes power... flames guide me!"

With a brief fiery aura, Hikaru goes from being her normal schoolgirl self into the Magic Knight of Fire. It's true that water puts out fire, but Hikaru won't be extinguished so easily! "Time to figure out what's causing this whole mess!" Hikaru says as she rushes back towards the tank.

<Pose Tracker> Fuu Hououji [Infinity Institute (9)] has posed.

The trainer's neglecting to surface with her charges prompts a worried look to cross Fuu's face. That's certainly NOT part of the performance. "Let's move along with our friends from Ohtori, shall we?" she says to the children she's accompanying, and she starts chivvying them back towards the food court, all smiles as usual ...

Even though, internally, she is VERY worried and doesn't feel at all like smiling. There are severe limits on what she can do with water; she hasn't even tried conjuring and maintaining air bubbles or the like. Hopefully somebody else is going to be able to help until Fuu can get her charges 'parked' under somebody else's guidance. Fortunately, there's a teacher whom Fuu can ask to take over for her - and maybe give the kids some time for more shaved ice, who knows? As long as they don't overeat.

Fuu quickly heads back towards Pool 3 once she's asked the teacher to take over for her as a chaperone, and as she sees Hikaru transform, Fuu follows the red-haired Magic Knight's lead, transforming into the Knight of Wind. It'll take her precious seconds to get into position to do any good, though ...

COMBAT: Fuu Hououji transforms into Magic Knight!

<Pose Tracker> Juri Arisugawa [Ohtori Academy (11)] has posed.

The natives are definitely restless; kids getting alarmed, pulling on each other's hands for attention, looking to their chaperones for support or explanations. Most of them are simply ushered away -- and they tend to go very reluctantly, dragging their feet and staring with horror at the drama unfolding in the tank. Hikaru's, told to stay, are glad to do so, and Fuu's join her. It's fortunate that Nori is in the fray, doing her best to provide comfort, and Mami, who has stayed with her group, is also rewarded with a group of relatively calm and well-behaved kids. Pools of relative calm emenate around the two girls, with each of them at the center.

Lera, meanwhile, has been neglecting hers completely in the name of looking for a more direct solution, and for that reason her group is starting to sniffle, warning signs for a full-out bawl session; still, that might be an acceptable price to pay in an emergency situation. There /is/ a door inside the tank, probably accessible from wherever she saw Touya go, because it bursts open and he comes out, hauling a pair of fresh fish buckets like a tardy kid in a classroom hallway. He blinks at the sight of all these alarmed faces through the glass, the sound of the barking otters, and then down at the churning water.

Without hesitation, he sets down the buckets and leaps into the tank.

Swimming down with a few strong strokes, he makes straight for her ankle, and the trapped otter, and pulls at... something. The water itself seems to give beneath his hands, and the dizzied otter falls into his trainer's arms, who kicks and surges for the surface, Touya beside her.

That may be one day saved, but now the water in /all/ the nearby tanks is starting to churn. The penguin tank, the dolphin tank, the jellyfish tank and the tropical clownfish tank, each of them massive, are starting to tremble. And their occupants -- not all of them, but some of them -- each seem trapped in microvortexes.

Is it possible for fish to drown?

It's definitely possible for penguins to. And dolphins.

...and kids, as one of the tanks explodes outwards. It's the otter tank, so it's a good thing the occupants were all on the concrete island in the middle by now. But the water is starting to rise, fast.

Amidst the middle of it is a shape too fluid to really have a clear form. It's as though there were a sentient wave, since it's certainly obeying no laws of physics here, as though it has a mind of its own. It rears up, bubbles churning beneath it -- and then crashes straight downwards towards the kids. Tsunami!

<Pose Tracker> Sakura Kinomoto [Juuban Public School (4)] has posed.

"Sakura, this is /definitely/ a Clow Card!" Keroberos states firmly, a matching white jester's collar around his neck. He remains stoic for a few seconds before looking directly at Tomoyo, "How was that? Was that cool looking of me? Just kidding, I know it was!" He laughs for a few seconds before Sakura makes a guttural grown, a harbinger of worse-than-scolding-to-come. "A-a-ah, yeah, anyways," he catches himself, "But we should get going this is definitely a Clow Card, and if it's the one I think it is" he trails off while floating ahead of the girls who are following in a run after him back towards the tank. Along the way, they pass several exhibits and all three note the churning water, "This is the work of Watery!"

"Watery?" Sakura questions, looking ahead but focusing on the magic nearby. Her stride is large, and if she was not so concerned about bringing too much attention while avoiding crowds, she would have used Fly to get them to the tank faster. "Is it kind of like Windy, but with water?"

"Yeah, kinda" Kero-chan pauses for a few seconds, "Watery is one of the strongest Clow Cards there is, and it shows in its personality. It can be pretty aggressive. With the cards you have now-well, let's just hope you have some kinda help." He isn't saying these things to be mean, of course. Keroberos as the Guardian Beast is well aware of the abilities of the cards; Watery is one that with her powers currently as is, she was going to be fighting a dangerously uphill battle. However, at this point, both he and Sakura realize that there was not a whole lot that could be done about it.

Once the trio return at the tank, Tomoyo remains a safe distance from the action while Sakura breaks out one of her cards from her pocket. "FLY!" Summoning a magical circle under her feet, the beak of the wand hits the card. Suddenly, a pair of angelic wings dart from the side of the toucan's head as she saddles forth, darting down to grab one of the stunned elementary students before being thrown forward by a wave from Watery, projecting her and the student forward with a loud squeal. Before hitting a wall, she extends her legs forward to spring off and pivot towards a safer spot to drop the student off. "Get with your group, OK?"

At that, the Cardcaptor is back to circling the water, examining it closely with Keroberos flying closely.

A blur of seemingly-normal-girl easily gets past Mami, who's certainly occupied in the moments that she, her videographer, and the mighty, fierce Kero-chan are hatching their plans. The Ohtori high schooler is quite intent on keeping track of her group of kids, looking with some alarm towards the sniffling group elsewhee. "It's all right," she says again to those near her, her eyes caught by the arrival of the boy in the tank to come and help. "There's..."

She stops, trailing as she tenses against the sudden trembling of the tanks, the churning of the waters, and her instincts are right; the water crashes downwards, as Mami lets go a hand and hurls herself back-first against the water to shield the children before her from glass shards and powerful waves. Her stance set, she crosses her arms for stability and manages not to fall over in the process, though now she's soaked and standing in the water.

But when her eyes open, she can see the flying Cardcaptor dropping off students and circling the room. Despite the danger, her eyes light immediately, golden suddenly that much brighter.

She beams towards the children, "See? There's someone here to help now!" Trying to keep herself between the danger and her charges, the blonde girl offers confidently, "She and the others will protect everyone!"

<Pose Tracker> Nori Ankou [Ohtori Academy (9)] has posed.

Nori is the center of a storm of displeasure. A calm center. She can't just sit here, she thinks, even if her Mirror isn't in her pocket right now -- foolish her, not to bring it when chaos might threaten. But there is an item she does have...

She raises up her paddle as she rises to her feet, speaking in her rather penetrant voice, "Everyone, please --"

Waving it, trusting in the sigils of "Ohtori Academy" and "a banana" to draw attention, she says, "The best thing we can do to help them is to make sure we aren't in the way. Please, everyone," and now she steps into the aisle, "Come here, let's all go back to the lunch --"

The water surges up behind her like a living thing. Nori looks over her shoulder at its rising mass. It's huge, and it's going to surge down past her. The children will be swept -

No they won't, Nori thinks as she grasps the rails on either side of the pathway and turns her back on the water. She stands on the balls of her feet. She can't do anything about the glass, though Tomoe's on that case. What she can do is put herself as a buffer between the water and the children.

And so it is that the wave smacks hard into Nori's back, pulling her downwards with a wet glurgling noise. She doesn't fall over, though when the water - slowed by her use of her body as an obstacle - surges past, she IS dangling from the railings. She splutters, hair clinging to her face.

<Pose Tracker> Lera Camry [Infinity Institute (10)] has posed.

Lera starts to make for the door, getting about a dozen steps before she remembers that she was supposed to be watching children. Her eyebrow twitches; then she turns and looks at them, calling out quickly: "Get into a line, everybody, because we're--" She stops when she hears the splash. She turns to see Touya in the tank; her eyes widen, and that makes her go into crisis mode. Touya is after the trainer; she can focus on her kids. "Okay, let's--"

The water churns, bubbling, rushing. Her lips part, and she frowns, before she calls out. "GET DOWN!"

<Get set!>

Soaring Sky read her mind. As the water gushes over her, there is a flash of light -- and as the torrent of water clears, the girl wearing a long green coat is there, drenched, but holding her hand up. A half-formed barrier of red-orange light extends off it, undulating and shaking. This is a spell she barely knows; one she worked hard at to practice, and she holds it back for just a moment. "Get out of here, kids!" she yells. "Through the door back there!"

She swings her sword off her shoulder, and stares at the strange water, eyes narrowing. A magical circle appears under her feet and flashes upward, some heat rolling off it, as she unslings her sword. It comes to life with an orange glow, which emanates from her energy sword too. "I'm not sure what this is," she says, glancing at Cardcaptor Sakura as she flies, "but we'll make sure you're safe!"

Not all of the children have been gotten to safety. That's an immediate and compelling problem, and the Wind Knight steps forward without hesitation, her sword materializing as she places herself between the approaching wave and the knot of children; she even has a moment to bring her sword up, and try to cleave the approaching wave in half.

Magical power or not, magical SWORD or not, the wave largely ignores her slash and drenches the Magic Knight of Wind - but its fury is expended on her and not on the children. "ARe you all right?" she asks them, looking back over her shoulder to confirm. Which they are, albeit somewhat shocked.

"Then get to safety while I cover your flight," the Wind Knight adds with a kind smile before turning her attention to the main stage. "Winds of Admonishment!" she calls out, summoning for th the winds to try and bind the water elemental where it is. She's none too certain how well it will work, though - assuming her wind spell DOES ensnare the elemental ...

The water is coming quickly, and while Hikaru may be the knight of fire, she's not afraid of water. She tells the kids to run away while she stands firmly, acting like a shield to protect them against the incoming water-being. Whether it's a youma or whatever, it doesn't matter. Hikaru will gladly risk her own life to protect the kids, even if they probably don't know that it's their chaperone helping out in a different way! Nevertheless, Hikaru finds herself getting washed up by the water, and goes flying. She struggles to breathe as the water covers her, and once she finally breaks free, she finds her armor is soaked and her hair is a mess, the water dripping from it big time. But at least she's still going, unlike a flame that would be extinguished by now.

"You won't extinguish me that easily!" Hikaru yells at the elemental, having finally found the word she was looking for all the same. "Even if water puts out fire, I will still take you down!" She rushes at the elemental and attempts to strike with her sword.

<Pose Tracker> Juri Arisugawa [Ohtori Academy (11)] has posed.

It's quite a sight to behold, really.

Each of the tanks is churning more and more intensely, microvortexes becoming huge whirlpools that threatening to engulf everyone within -- the penguins, the dolphins, the fish and the jellies.

And down below, the water now at elementary student knee-level, there is chaos as well. Some kids are more athletic than the rest, and others more calm; those defended by Mami are spared a bad cutting, and Nori's aren't swept away, but they all seem quite alarmed by their chaperones putting themselves at risk.

Their attention deflected to the Cardcaptor and her allies, however, is enough to keep full-blown panic from sweeping the scene. Instead they make for the stairs, and higher ground, as best they can.

Some of them will still need help to do so, however. Yamazaki had the misfortune to be down in a pit with magazines and chairs when the wave came, and is now having to swim rather than walk his way to safety; in moments the strangely mobile water will be upon him. And Seiya, an Ohtori elementary schooler with more guts than sense, seems to be swimming straight out towards the center of the water, the wave itself, a mop -- where did he get a mop? -- clutched in his massively gaping mouth.

This will probably end poorly for them both without intervention.

Touya hurries to help the trainers gather the otters -- who are fairly slow on land. He has those two buckets of fish, and sends one through the door. The fish empty out of it in midair, and they seem weird... stuck together. Not floppy like fish at all.

They're frozen solid.

The Magic Knights attempt a more direct approach. Observing them, Sakura and Lera can witness the might of Watery first-hand; Fuu's Winds are penetrated by cunningly woven streamers of water, and dispersed entirely, while Hikaru's sword cuts deep into the wave, sending water droplets everywhere.

But it's water -- and the wave reforms as quickly as it has been wounded.

If nothing else this appears to have gotten its attention. Streamers of water congeal into larger pillars, literal water serpents rather than figurative ones, which pour downwards towards the Magic Knights with blinding speed and crushing force. Lera and the Cardcaptor haven't aggressed yet, but that doesn't stop Watery from sending two more their way. Kero-chan was accurate in his description of the creature; though all this swirling water doesn't have a visible face, it certainly has a temper.

Lera sees the watery serpent rushing towards her. Her eyes widen sharply, as it comes in from her left, and she jumps off the ground. She turns in midair, a flight spell helping guide her, and it nearly scrapes against her. Watery mist blasts into her clothing and the wind sends her into a spin. She hits the ground with a tumble, feet kicking off the floor to keep her grip, and sending up watery droplets. She spots, then, a glimpse of Yamazaki. She hesitates a moment, as she sees him desperately trying to swim away from the mess of water threatening to engulf him. Her eyes widen sharply, and she concocts a plan.

She launches into the air with a jump, twisting upward. Light flares at her feet, and then she leaves a trail of red-orange light burning underneath her feet as she goes airborne. She takes off like a cannon shot, shooting towards Yamazaki. She can't catch him in time, and drag him out, so she grabs him with one hand. Then she turns as she comes to a stop, using her momentum to spin--

<Lera! Move!>

--and throw Yamazaki away, sending him flying away from the wave. It crashes down on Lera a moment later -- and smashes her into the wall with a loud crack, sending them up the side of the wall. She stumbles, then, and takes a deep breath. Her eyes narrow, before she groans lowly. That hurt. "Get out of here, Yamazaki-kun!" she calls out, before she runs, and leaps.

She takes off with another a ring of light bursting from her feet, and trailing under her feet. She shoots, directly, towards the wave again. A corona of red-orange light explodes around her, blazing brightly, as she tries to ram right into it.

"Oh, boy," Kero-chan sucks in air before hollering, "Listen up, girlies!" The Guardian Beast cups both paws to his mouth to amplify the sound. It would be a lot easier if he had his true form. "This here is Watery!" He gestures an orange paw to the water pooling on the floor, "It's not your average, run-a'-the-mill monster. This thing is /powerful./ Fire ain't gonna cut it, Wind ain't gonna cut it. Physical attacks are kinda useless. Earth ain't gonna cut it. Y'all might want to work together on this one! But in the end, we gotta get this thing to its true form so Sa-aaaa!" he catches himself before giving away her identity with a weirdly placed cough, "Cardcaptor-chan here can seal it. Got it?"

Although she is nervous about having so many people around to watch her use her abilities, there is little option otherwise. Watery did not care for discretion. As such, as it is her responsibility to capture the card, she inhales sharply. Her eyes scan the water, keeping an eye out for any individuals lost in the waters before coming upon Seiya. "Aah, be careful!" Directing the wand towards the waters below, Sakura reaches down to grab the elementary student before being slowly pulled into the water. There is no movement for a few seconds sans some bubbles before the Cardcaptor erupts from the water and surges out with the student on the back of the wand, dropping him off before returning to the scene, soaking wet and clearly out of breath. "Kero-chan, if I don't do anything, it isn't gonna fix anything, right?"

"Y-Yeah, butWindy isn't really a match!" The guardian beast floats nearby, narrowing his eyes at the violent waters. "You /really/ are outmatched here. It's not because you aren't strong enough," he repeats, because he knows full and well that hurting her morale will not do anything to help the situation. "It's because the combination of cards you have just won't be able to overpower Watery. Flower isn't an offensive card. Fly isn't an offensive card. Windy is very gentle."

"I still have to help somehow! I can't let Pengin-san drown or anyone else get hurt!" Her wand descends towards dryer ground from a distance. It is at that point she takes out a second card and the wings disappear. Her hands throw the card out in front of her as the beak touches the card, summoning a mystical wind and an even larger gust taking an anthropogenic form, "WINDY! Create a gust of wind!" Her finger points outward, directing towards the water. She knows, ultimately, it will not cause the greatest of damage even if it manages to do anything, but at least getting it to its true form would be an accomplishment.

Nori spits out water. She is questioning just how charmed she is with regards to water. Even so, she pulls herself up to her feet, pushing past that chill of water on her body. At least the weather's nice enough that she herself won't freeze. Right?

The fish promise otherwise.

Nori catches sight of Yamazaki, tensing herself up. She's going to dive for him, but before she has to throw everything on the line, something magical happens. With a leaping burst of fiery light, that mysterious fiery woman - the legendary heroine, Cheeseburger Propane - grabs him!

And tosses him. Nori hastens over to help him up, her other hand reaching into her pocket where she'd stuck the signalling paddle on reflex. Holding it aloft, she calls towards the self-propelling Lera, "Thank you--!"

With that she heads for the exits. Can she make it back to the shoe locker where her Black Mirror is hiding in time? Or is the aquarium too much of a disaster now? The poor otters and their friends, Nori thinks with anguish!

The Magic Knight of Wind hurls herself to the side, trying to dodge the approaching wall of water now that the children she WAS protecting have secured their chance to get out of harm's way. But the wave is way too big for the Wind Knight to simply evade; the armored magical girl with the green jewels for 'accents' on said armor gets swamped hard enough - violently enough, even - to be left not only next to breathless, but racked by a coughing fit as she tries not to actually choke on the water that found its way down her throat.

"Winds," she manages to wheeze, "of Hea-- of Healing ... !" Her left hand comes up briefly, clenching, and a breeze gusts around her, her healing magic working its way into her body to help offset the damage she's taken so far. Once she can breathe better, Fuu directs more of her healing magic towards her fellow Magic Knight, and to the young Cardcaptor whom she's met previously; hopefully her magic will help them keep fighting at something resembling their fullest capacity.

At the very least, the Wind Knight isn't coughing any more and is able to get back to her feet.

At least now she has a sense of what's going on, thanks to Kero-chan, though his words and the way the other girls' attacks are faring isn't encouraging to the Puella Magi. If Mami could stop and appreciate the scene playing out in each of these tanks, and ignore the living things at risk from them--well, that much is moot. This isn't the sort of lovely ocean scene that is the high schooler's cup of tea, and there's no time to stop and watch it all.

She makes herself keep smiling, to ease some of the fear and worry she sees, and luckily that is one of Mami's most-honed skills. The blonde Puella Magi, still shivering in her uniform, turns to look back once at the situation--

"No!" she calls as she sees Seiya charging that way, her hands instinctively folding over one another--or more properly, folding over a certain slightly dingy silver ring on her finger, as she hesitates. Sakura is there... But Mami can only stare, holding her breath, as the younger girl is drawn into the water.

Until she emerges, and Mami finds herself sighing in relief.

"See, everyone?" she says to her students, many of whom have to be staring back at what's happening as they make it out. "There's nothing to worry about!"

Now things are starting to get complicated.

Lera tosses Yamazaki-kun clear and Nori helps him up, and then he follows the latter up the stairs and down several hallways, babbling in fright the whole time. "Did you know that Verone has a record number of drownings? People say it's because of the Jellied Ghost, which first appeared in 1989 after the Great Jellyfish Exodus..."

Seiya jogs along Nori's other side, after giving Sakura a gasped-out, post-rescued 'thank you very much' for the save and the ride on her 'broomstick'. "You're such a liar," he gasps, clutching the stitch in his side from all this exertion.

"...obviously it's the Clownfish Ghost!"

Yamazaki's eyes light up.

---

Back in the central part of the aquarium, Lera's red-orange light sparkles off the surface of the water as she impacts it. She goes straight through and comes out the other side soaking wet, and the column itself seems not much worse for wear. The same is true for Hikaru's blast of fire -- it's mostly turned into steam by a water serpent that acts for all the world like a swatting arm.

The invocation of a Clow Card really gets its attention and holds it. The sopping wet carpet is briefly visible as the mass of water surges directly out of the way of Windy's grasp, before relaxing back into a still, quiet pool that is now about neck-deep even on a middle school student.

A bucket of frozen fish bobs by in the current. It passes the dolphin tank, where one of the creatures trapped in that whirlpool clicks and shrieks its distress... before being released. Indeed, the parts of the water that aren't in the main chamber are all beginning to calm a little bit. Perhaps Watery is too distracted fighting the magical girls.

It surges up all at once, like the bottom of an elevator rising to meet the girls' feet -- trying to suck them down below!

The Winds of Healing are graciously appreciated by Sakura, who waves to the green Magic Knight with a large smile, "Thank you, Green-san!" Now having her second wind, she raises her head to examine one last time for any hold-outs-thankfully, no one else important was remaining; her friends, Tomoyo-chan, Touya, and Yukito. For a few seconds, she is quiet, reminiscing about earlier in the day and how fun it was, how nice it was before Watery came around. And then she lights up. Yukito got her shaved /ice./ Touya was carrying buckets of /frozen/ fish. Something around here had to be cold. Now, she just had to figure out the /how/.

Before she can do that, she notices the surge. Her hands grasp the wand before throwing out the Fly card ahead of her and having the wand grow the wings once more upon shouting its name and infusing her magical abilities to the wand. "FLY!" Despite this, she is almost too late. Her hands hold onto the wand while trying to pull herself up from the current. It takes a few moments but eventually her excellent physical strength allows her to climb up onto the wand and out of too much danger. Returning back before turning to Fuu, "Ah, Green-san, Red-san," her nicknames for Fuu and Hikaru, respectively, "and America-san!" Her nickname for Lera, as she was unaware of all their names. "I have an idea. Green-san and I should get Watery's attention with Windy, and Red-san and America-san, do you think you two can help stall a little bit while Green-san and I try and get its attention when we get it to show its true form?"

Once she is on land, the wand twirls in her hand as she takes out the Windy card once more, throwing it in front and summoning the magical circle. "WINDY! Blow with all your might!"

"Green-san, do you think you can lend me a hand here again? You've been very helpful so far and I think we can all do this together!" A cheerful smile pokes out as she points Windy in the direction of the aggressive waters. She knows it won't do much alone, but maybe together, they'll get a little closer!

She shoots up, and does a tight twist to look after the kids as they run away from the water, shooting up the stairs. She looks after Nori, Mami, and the kids for a moment. While she does, the water begins to rise up more and more; it begins to surge upward.

<Here it comes!>

"I see it!" Lera yells, and she turns down, and her sword splits into two; the left falls into her hand, becoming two single-edged swords, with the curve of red-orange energy running up each. She crosses them together, slamming them down towards the tide of water as it comes rushing up towards her. Droplets spray upward, as it slams into the crossed swords -- and the plasma field meeting water sends bursts of steam up around her, knocking her back hard into the air.

<Sentinel Cross!>

She uncrosses the blades, and then she dives down towards the water. She slashes with her right sword first, and then spins in midair, the left slashing. She finishes, then, by sweeping up with the right. She knows slashing water with an energy sword may not do much, but if weakening it can let Cardcaptor Sakura seal it, that's enough. Rather than trying to dive away from the water this time, or to do something pointlessly fancy like cleaving through it, the Wind Knight just takes as deep a breath as she can and braces herself against the next surge of water.

It works out better than her prior attempts to evade or counter had; the water smacks her around some, but the green-clad Magic Knight stands her ground fairly well, and is able to listen to Sakura's call for assistance. "That sounds like a plan, card-user-san!" she replies with a smile, her sword vanishing as she focuses on her magic. Which of her spells would be the best ... well, wind is *usually* a gentle element, as Kero-san said.

Usually.

  • Not* always.

"STORM-DANCE OF THE KAMAITACHI!!!" shouts the Magic Knight of Wind, spreading her arms as a tempest blossoms into existence in front of her; a second gesture sends the miniature tornado flying towards the spirit of Watery, her attack spell merging into Sakura's own assault as she 'passes control' of the storm to the younger (but apparently far more versatile) magical girl.

One hand rests on the doorframe, just in case--she at least has a good vantage point to see the girls beneath coming together here.

<Pose Tracker> Nori Ankou [Ohtori Academy (9)] has posed.

Nori guides these two young boys forwards, into the safer realms of slightly higher ground. "Don't say such things," she chides them both - it works for both Yamazaki being full of evil ghost stories and Seiya --

"Oh," she says, a little worriedly.

Considering this, Nori says, "Seiya-kun, I have to give you this, because I think someone's missing. I have to find them. Please, take care of everyone until I can come back." With a ceremonious little bow of the head, she proffers the paddle. It's not quite what she's supposed to do, but...

She smiles at them both.

And then she makes it down the hallway.

Down towards the cloakroom.

Reaching into her bag, rummaging, she pulls out-- her cell phone! Which is quickly replaced and instead on a second try she DOES find her Black Mirror, holding it aloft in the empty room full of the bags of the hundreds who have come here to learn and have found disaster instead:

"For the sake of my cousin's people," Nori says, "I can't just stand by. Twinned in the mirror--" The scent of the sea, of course, is not easy to tell apart from the current situation prevailing in the aquarium.

- - -

And so in swift order, la Sirene du Nord hastens her way up another stairwell, up towards the Pool 3 battlezone, where conflict is occuring. She can feel the wind whipping - she knows the Magic Knight of Wind is up there, but who else was providing this? She can hardly tell at this distance.

Of course she's also got a ways to run, especially in those boots. Hopefully Seiya is not going to cause trouble with his newfound authority.

Somehow, Hikaru's adrenaline (and maybe some kind of magic) allows her to leap away quickly and then out of the way to avoid being washed away entirely. At first, Hikaru can't believe she's done this, but she's done it and she's not bragging about it either. "I told you, I'm not easy to extinguish!" She attempts to prove this by sending forth a small projectile of flame.

Sakura directs people, does a wind combo with Fuu, fails to dodge, big hit

Lera energy swords it, narrow brace

Hikaru small fireball, fails to brace

Plans are not always the most effective thing, but Sakura's begins to fall into place like clockwork.

Lera and Hikaru come at the watery mass from opposite directions, slashing and blasting into it. 'Stall,' Sakura asked them, and they do so beautifully: the orange and reds of their fire and plasmas have no risk of burning down the aquarium, not right now, but certainly even as they fizzle into the water, the water has to work a little bit to not be evaporated. It's thoroughly distracted.

Long enough for the Cardcaptor and Magic Knight of Wind to get their act together. And they do, with a vengeance; wielded by Sakura, the wind is a woman, and the wind augmented by Fuu's tornado is somehow larger, mightier, with longer, trailing streamers.

Her eyes are still doe-soft and gentle, but her power is more than enough, now, to wrap around the massive column of water, to cause it to condense, to shimmer, and -- finally -- to take shape.

It isn't a solid shape. It still ripples and undulates with the perfect liquidity of its true nature.

It appears that the incarnation of water -- or at least /this/ incarnation of water -- has long, long hair, and elfin ears that are webbed like a manta's body, and the tail of a mermaid. Huge wing-like fins spread from her back. Her eyes are veiled by long, long lashes...

...and they are /not/ gentle.

Fury pours from them as she flings her arms wide, a wave exploding outwards in all directions with crushing strength.

Another tank shatters.

<Pose Tracker> Sakura Kinomoto [Juuban Public School (4)] has posed.

"Sakura!" Kero-chan calls out, observing Watery's wrath launch the Cardcaptor back into the wall, dropping with a thud. Flying over quickly, Keroberos is examining the damage done and knows it was a hardy hit against the Cardcaptor. "Sakura-chan," he whispers quietly, "c'mon, we gotta get Watery before it drops this place. We don't have a lot of time left before it gets even angrier and more powerful! You gotta catch it!"

After landing like that, she is slow to carry herself up. Using the staff to pick herself up off the ground, she grabs one of her cards one more time. "Green-san! Just in case I'm unable to do it, I know you have wind magic so" her navy blue gloved finger points towards the bucket of frozen fish. Truth be told, Sakura is unsure if uncaptured Clow Cards have the ability to hear or even perceive strategies. In an effort to avoid ruining their hard work, she hopes the other magical girls are able to pick up on her idea without her having to say as much. "Maybe after all this, we can get someshaved ice." In an effort to hopefully be clever without giving too much away, she starts her plan.

Once more, the Fly card is thrown in front and summoned from the head of the bird. The wings extend from the side of its head while the Guardian Beast floats upward next to her, concerned about the young mage. "All right, girlies, it's a field trip, right? Y'all might wanna follow along!"

And just like that, after saddling herself on the wand and a small raspberry as a taunt towards the card (her hopeful way of grabbing its attention), she begins the flight towards the freezer, hoping it won't be too far behind.

<Pose Tracker> Fuu Hououji [Infinity Institute (9)] has posed.

The Wind Knight lets out a breath as she sees her and Sakura's efforts pay off - and then another tidal wave saturates the area.

She's quick enough and canny enough to at least throw herself *with* the force of the crashing wave, but the impact still leaves her battered between the wall of water and the floor of ... tile? Whatever it is. That takes most of the fight out of her; she hasn't been knocked out or anything, but she's almost out of willpower to put behind her attack spells. On the other hand, she has PLENTY of will left to support her friends - and as the flying yellow plushie calls instructions to Sakura, the Wind Knight holds her ground to listen.

"I'm sure you can pull this off, card-user-san!" she says encouragingly. "And to give you some help ... Winds of Healing!" she calls out for the second time today; the restorative breezes blow through the area again, once more enfolding Sakura to give the Cardcaptor some healing that she can probably use after that impact - and the remainder of Fuu's healing attention is split between the just-arrived La Sirene du Nord, and Lera 'Magical Cheeseburger Propane-Chan' Camry: both allies whom Fuu has fought beside often enough to trust, even if La Sirene has sometimes been an opponent - they're on the same side this time, which is what matters immediately.

Then she starts focusing on pulling her willpower back together. If she does have to take up the slack for Sakura, she'll need to be ready with everything she can muster.

<Pose Tracker> Lera Camry [Infinity Institute (10)] has posed.

<Look sharp! We have more!>

"I see it!" Lera cries out, as she turns in midair, light flashing underneath her feet. "It's--"

<This is getting bad!>

Lera turns quickly as the wave explodes from the woman that appears -- the embodiment of Watery, though she doesn't know that -- and surges. A ring of red-orange light fires from her feet, a trail of light left in her wake, and she goes rushing ahead of the wave. She flies fast and true, straight as an arrow, but that furious wave nearly catches up with her. The force of it seems to pull her in, as it nearly comes atop her, but then she manages to boost ahead at the last minute as the wave crests. Spray still hits her feet, bucking her down with the impact.

She yelps, twisting in midair. She turns her head to look at Sakura, then at Kero-chan. She sees them fly towards the freezer; her expression becomes confused, and then alights with realization and determination. "Got it! I'll give it a boost!"

Fuu's wave of healing magic comes over her; she feels some of the battle's fatigue, some of the strains she took vanish. She'll still ache tomorrow, but she aches less now, and that's enough. Lera nods quickly in Fuu's direction as she executes a midair barrel roll, coming to a stop before she slams head-first into the opposite wall. She points her two swords down, aiming it towards Watery, and focuses. Crackles of light, like a red-orange lightning, leap between the extended short swords. A glow begins to build there, white and gold, tinged with a deeper red color, as she focuses.

<Aurora Burst!>

The energy between the two swords grows brighter and brighter. Then, a huge beam fires down from between the two blades. It shoots down towards Watery -- hopefully giving her a mighty, magical shove towards the freezer!

"BURST!"

<Pose Tracker> La Sirene du Nord [Ohtori Academy (9)] has posed.

It's beautiful, la Sirene du Nord thinks. Then she can feel it moving, a subtle motion which becomes far less subtle when an enormous wave comes flying towards her, casting its watery shadow on her.

La Sirene's left hand comes up and her right raises in a familiar gesture. I feel, she thinks, like I should have something in my hands--

"Les Mysteres, come!" she cries out, striking downwards, and a bursting pencil of silvery light emanates outwards, sending gorgeous ripples into the huge amount of water that's aiming towards her. La Sirene leans slightly backwards, sustaining the charm for lingering moments, her heart racing as she sees the familiar shimmering cryptic lights form, spread through the water --

Finally, the wave parts! Miraculously, she is left undampened by its passage, the water rushing behind her and filling in the gap she'd created only gradually. Her boots are helpfully high.

A card captor and a Kero-chan zip by. La Sirene's head pivots to follow them. Splashing, she heads back the way she came, spreading her arms as she does. "I'll help you keep its attention...!"

And hopefully not get smashed in with water for the /third/ time. A shimmering chorus of white sparkling drops burst from the water around her, her magic not needing the Mirror to channel it given all the seawater in the area. The worry stabs her - will the animals all be safe? -

But the showering bursting drops, full of silvery lunar-hued light, pepper down against the creature. "Where are we going?!" she calls ahead, accelerating on the straightaway.

"Downstairs, and it might be chilly!" she calls to La Sirene du Nord. Sakura can feel Watery close on her heels, and with the help of the other magical girls, she is using quite a bit of her might (helped on by Fuu's Winds of Healing) to keep abreast of the card's aggressive advances. Winding down the stairs towards the freezer, the moment she reaches the floor and turns the corner, she sees the freezer door-and wide open, at that!

Once she is close enough, she drops to the floor and uses the secondary card , summoning the anthropogenic wind once more to lure it into the freezer. "WINDY!" She calls out and with all of her might, supplies the card with enough magic to keep the attention of the card once inside the freezer.

"Keep it cool, Windy!" she shouts, before moving her hand to the freezer to hopefully contain the Clow Card.

<Pose Tracker> Juri Arisugawa [Ohtori Academy (11)] has posed.

As it turns out, a raspberry is a /very/ effective way to get the attention of a Clow Card.

Whether this says more about the anthropormorphic personifications or their creator is difficult to say.

The Watery's eyes widen in rage -- rage and resentment -- and then she's off to the races, tearing after Sakura and making the ground shake every time she lands on it, for her 'running' is really an arc, up and down and up and down and up again, of water, as though she were part of an invisible fountain the size of the aquarium itself.

She pays no mind to Fuu or Hikaru whatsoever, but La Sirene, a new opponent, blasts droplets into her side, causing some of the fluid 'scales' on her mermaid's tail to briefly be painted silver. Then, with a shimmer and a ripple, the effect fades.

The chase continues, Sakura upon The Fly too nimble and fast to be easily caught and smashed, smashed up against a wall like kelp in a reef. No, not yet, not yet. Maybe soon.

Down the stairs where Touya vanished earlier they go, with much splashing and roaring. That's when Lera summons her massive beam, which crashes into The Watery's side and sends her tumbling fins-over-fins (because there are fins on her head, and she has fins for heels) into the freezer.

Once there her eyes widen still further, with shock and horror. For The Windy is there with her, and so is this person who wields a Key, a Staff, both like and unlike the one of the Master she once knew.

The storm howls inside the freezer, snow forming instantly where The Watery and The Windy collide. Frost tracks its way along the walls, over shelves of supplies, across the floor... and ultimately up The Watery herself, who is frozen completely.

She twinkles there, arms outstretched, face furious, a perfectly icy statue.

And then, for the first time in what feels like hours even though it's just ten minutes, there's only silence, and the sight of one's own breath as it clouds the air.

<Pose Tracker> Sakura Kinomoto [Juuban Public School (4)] has posed.

Once satisfied, she had slid down on the door, wiping her forehead with a gloved wrist. "Kero-chan, that was-"

"SUPER COOL!" the beast practically screams. "You girlies know what's up! Maaaaan, that was the coolest thing to watch. And I bet Tomoyo got how cool we looked on tape too!" He is practically singing in glee over how he and the magical girls looked on tape. "I bet I look like the tough, wise mentor to you guys, ahahaha!"

A few minutes pass, and with each minute, she is clearly anxious about opening the door. What if it hadn't frozen? She nervously bites her lower lip before turning and opening the door to a completely frozen, glistening angry mermaid.

Her eyes light up in success before nodding to the other girls present. "We're good!"

"Reclaim the guise you were meant to inhabit!" Her wand swings circular once before dropping it right before the ice-sealed mermaid-cicle. "CLOW CARD!" On 'card,' a holographic rectangle forms in the shape of an average card, glowing a light blue color before a strong gust of wind began to suck in the ice particles shaping the beast, breaking it into pieces and sucking the room dry to the bone. Once completely sealed, the card drifts to Sakura's hands and she holds the card tightly as well as catching Windy's card.

"Thank goodness that is over." She sighs in relief, ignoring the cold temperature.

<Pose Tracker> Mami Tomoe [Ohtori Academy (10)] has posed.

The spectacle is hard to follow in its own way--Mami certainly watches with half-held breath as the taunt sents the beautiful Watery chasing after, holding tighter to the wall as she sees and feels the living fountain crash up and down. Seeing the attacks, the beas, the winds swirling around--

And then the calm.

She smiles down at the assembled group, though 'on tape' is certainly a new concept for one Mami Tomoe.

But she waits, too, as time passes. Until...

"I'll be right back," she says behind her, and steps down a little closer, just close enough to actually see things better. And talk. The magic alights before her eyes, and frankly, the blonde doesn't care at the moment about the cold she's tempting.

Instead she announces her presence with a clap of her hands, beaming down. "Ah! Wonderful!" the girl calls, giving no particular sign that she, herself, is a highly experienced magical girl. ...Though she does manage to stay awfully calm, considering.

She smiles to the assembled set of magical girls, but her attention falls most on the one new to her: Sakura. "But what should we call you? We have to know who to thank for helping us!"

<Pose Tracker> Lera Camry [Infinity Institute (10)] has posed.

"All right!" Lera cheers, as she sees her enter the freezer; the girl sets down on the aquarium floor and stumbles when she does. She is exhausted and sore, beaten up by the battle today, and now that it looks to be done, she feels that exhaustion setting in. She wipes at her brow, tiredly, and looks down at the freezer's door. Her mouth opens, with a nervous glance. Was that enough to do it? For a few seconds, she worries and she wonders, especially after the door slides closed.

But then Sakura calls out, and her expression breaks back into a smile. "Good job!" she says, making a thumbs-up down at Sakura, and beaming brightly at her. "You did great. This place is kind of a mess, but..."

She looks around the aquarium. "It'll get cleaned up!"

Then she looks up at Mami, when she calls to them; she blinks a couple of times, before she looks to Sakura, and nods her head. It's a good question!

<Pose Tracker> La Sirene du Nord [Ohtori Academy (9)] has posed.

La Sirene follows the group, and when the Watery is sent screaming into the freezer, she leans a hand against the table. She breathes in and out as some mist rises from her mouth, and she smiles. It's over...

She grimaces as Kero calls this situation SUPER COOL.

After this, though, she smiles, a little wanly. "I'm glad I was there to help you. This aquarium is precious to me... I only hope the animals will be safe, after everything is cleaned up." With this, she curtseys, and slips her way towards a side door, and hopefully back to where she can catch up with those students before

Oh no. What has the Banana-team paddle wrought?!

<Pose Tracker> Sakura Kinomoto [Juuban Public School (4)] has posed.

"M-me?" Sakura stutters, visibly taken off guard by the question. Given that she technically was responsible (even if indirectly) for Watery's terror, it is a fair one to ask. She had not given much thought to a secret identity. "Ahaha, well" her voice is sheepish and she is nervously laughing.

Almost as quietly as Mami had appeared, Tomoyo made her presence known among the magical girls, her hand on the camera still. "You can call her Cardcaptor Sakura." She states sweetly, lowering the camera a bit. "Though, I am very sad I was not able to film all of your wonderful talent, Cardcaptor-chan."

Her head hangs low; there were enough people named Sakura out there, and frankly, Tomoyo's costumes /were/ good enough to throw people off of her trail.

"It looks like our Cardcaptor Sakura-chan is cold-shocked by that question, eh?!" Kero-chan sounds out, laughing hysterically at his own joke. "That's a pretty cool note to go out on, right?"
